New DP perk-any first hand accounts yet??(BOGO speciality restaurant)

The reasonable thing to do would be to use the date of your NC purchase, since that is the date of record for other issues.

That being said, I think they have worded their upgrade policy so that it really will be impossible to determine who is next in line. Booking date, tier level, and price paid are all factors. Add into that the 'space available' caveat and D+ vs D and it all adds up to a big fat zero in terms of explainability as to who gets what and why.

They said that they 'clarified' their upgrade policy but I disagree. Clarification would mean they explicitly state that booking time trumps tier level trumps price paid, etc, and they haven't done that. They just suggest criteria used in making the final decision. And it's all space-available.

You're so right. I think this was RCI's intention so it sounds good but is impossible to truly understand.

Friend of mine just off the FR yesterday......they didnt have the new coupon books yet(next cruise),but they did have a printed sheet with the new perks.......

and FYI---on his cruise(not sure if its for every FR cruise),the first night in Portofino is the murder mystery so the only open slots were at 6pm!

How convenient for not honoring the coupon...if they ever have the coupon. :p

They love to construct perks that are impossible to use. That way they can have a long list of things but they really don't have to deliver.

Going back to the internet coupons, I've never had a problem putting as many as 5 on my account. How have I gotten so many? If I'm traveling with my parents and sisters than there are 6 (or 7 b/c sometimes my 4 y/o has gotten an adult book) coupons available. Since you're less likely to go over if you have a ton of minutes all on one account, we just pool our coupons on one card and check in for flights, send e-mail, etc. all from there. Have to admit, I guess we could go higher if we traded...I've never thought about doing that. Anybody want our coffee coupons? ;)

We just made D+ and will be on Freedom Aug 1st. Can someone clarify for me if we get a free dinner at a specialty restaurant? I don't remember seeing that perk anywhere. I cannot read 300+ posts on this thread, so fi someone would tell me if or if not I would appreciate it. thanks

Can I bring my family along and get the BOGO if they're not D+? Think that I should ask to do that? I mean they are part of my family and should be given the same perks. Right?

Its a brand new perk and its in the coupon book(buy one,get one free first night ONLY).......however on the FR, the first night at Portofino is the mystery dinner(at least it was last week) so dont get your hopes up for there.....

You're kidding, right?

The coffee coupons were always for free coffee at Seattle's Best. Has that changed?

I can confirm. I just returned today. The free coffee coupon is only for use in specialty restaurants. :(

Wouldn't it be totally cool if they came up with a "D+ coupon menu"? You get to choose X number of coupons from a list, and get multiples if you want. I'd skip the match play in the casino, and the spa, but go for the bogo drinks, internet, and coffee specialty.

Oh brother...........:mad::mad::mad:

Does this mean we can just go in and get a cup of coffee? :D Or do we have to have a meal while we are there. It sounds like the perks are becoming more like Celebrity. That's how their coffee coupon is, too. Their specialty restaurant cost more than Chops and I didn't think it was anywhere near as good.

YES !!! I'll take any coffee coupons you don't want. BTW, you can use the coffee coupons for a blended coffee as long as it doesn't have any booze in it. I get the mocha cremice. It's great.

I guess the coffee coupon isn't a huge deal...on most ships. Where there is a CL, D+ already has access to free coffee. Many of us eat in the specialty restaurants so it will be nice to have a free cup of specialty coffee, too.

But what about the ships with no CL? There is no specialty restaurant on those ships either for the most part I think. And there is a Seattle's Best where it would have been a nice perk to have a free cup of coffee. Oh well, you win a few and.......

I hate to burst your bubbles but you only get the free meal in one of the specialty restaurants if you book a future cruise on day number one with the LA.

:o

I'm hoping this is REALLY a joke that you forgot to put the wink ;) after.

How CAN you possibly book a next cruise day 1 and also make reservations to eat in a speciality restaurant day 1 embarkation day! I am so confused - can't wait to read the coupon. When I get it on Friday, I will post a copy of the actual coupon.

It's a joke. The coffee coupon has nothing to do with future bookings.
