With comments on problems) – Was in the cabin early 2 nights, and music from Rita's Fiesta and Ocean Aria show was VERY noticeable. During the day, you could hear the shows (sexiest man and belly flop contest) at the Aqua Theater. Foot traffic was very minimum, even with the "secret" balcony down the hall. Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - No Balcony View - Give comments on view, noting if location of any obstructions was an issue. – Good view of the aqua theater, aft ocean view, and boardwalk area. Could not see the far left side of the aqua theater, but the screen on the right side of the aqua theater has no obstruction, so you don't miss anything. Only a small corner of the diving board areas, on the left side, is not viewable when sitting away from the edge of the balcony. But, if you pushed your chair to the end of the balcony and leaned over, you can see the diving boards on the left. Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - Normal Was wind a problem? - No. Pleasant breeze at times. If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? - N/A Any specific problems with this cabin? - Besides the noise during events and shows, no. Just the usual long walk down the hallway to get to the cabin. Any other comments? When nothing is going on at the aqua theater or on the boardwalk, the noise level is barely noticeable with the balcony door closed all the way. If you are a light sleeper, may not want to consider this stateroom. If you like being around the action, you will definitely enjoy. Though I am a light sleeper, I would get this stateroom again. I loved the location, being able to see the ocean and the aqua theater, and loved watching the action on the boardwalk. Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - No Balcony View - Give comments on view, noting if location of any obstructions was an issue. – Great view out and aft, but 9592 is directly on the hump, so the view would be better there. I spent a lot of time on my balcony and was impressed with the privacy and relative lack of wind. Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - Normal with a slight angle. There was room for two chairs and a small table. Was wind a problem? - Surprisingly no. As mentioned above, the Captains announcements could not be heard inside the cabin, no matter where we set the dial. Any other comments? -<b> We got this room for its proximity to the elevators, and if we were doing it again we would go with 9592 to be directly on the peak of the hump. The Royal Suite is directly above this room, so we didn't expect too much noise, and that was borne out. YMMV depending on who books that suite. We were told that several weeks before, some loud parties were a problem, but not for our cruise.</b> Edited November 3, 2013 by Wingy

(With comments on problems) – No. Its right next to the elevators and fortunately you don't get any noise from the elevators. However, if you turn in early at night, meaning before midnight, this room isn't for you. The bands play in the Centrum on the 4th floor. The noise from the bands echos into the room and the walls actually vibrate until the bands stop each night - between midnight and 1am. We aren't light sleepers, but it is impossible to get to sleep before the bands stop. During the day and early evening there is no noise. Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - No Balcony View - Give comments on view, noting if location of any obstructions was an issue. – The balcony is huge - as large as the room itself, without the bathroom area. There is a lounge chair, two sitting chairs and table and still lots of room. Because it's right behind the bubble you get the "full" balcony. The view is straight out and to the aft of the ship. No view to the front of the ship unless you lean over the rail. The beautiful view in front and rear. Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - Huge. At least 2-3 time larger than any side ship balconies. You'll love the balcony. Was wind a problem? - No If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? - NA Any specific problems with this cabin? - We had a leak in the toilet but it was fixed after the second day out. The bathroom always has a funky odor - like dried urine. We had our cabin guy check it numeous time and he couldn't locate the odor, but agreed it was pretty bad. Any other comments? -We were surprised that since the ship had just been in dry-dock a few months previous that everything in the room hadn't been redone. Actually nothing had. The bedding is showing some wear, the curtains don't close fully - take a close pin - and the couch is worn and not comfortable. I wouldn't really recommend this room - although we loved the balcony size - there were too many other "negatives' to make up for the balcony - especially the noise. Note that the balcony railing was not plexiglass but metal rods. Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - Excellent. A round dining table with four chairs, two loungers, a side table, and room to spare! Since there were six of us, we took two inside chairs to the balcony when eating outside. Balcony is deep enough to allow the lounge chairs to look straight out to sea with room to walk around them. No "roof" over the balcony, so people can see from balconies above. North_Country_Cruiser Posted November 21, 2013 #321 Share Posted November 21, 2013 Ship - Oasis of the Seas Deck - 8 Stateroom # - 8644 Stateroom Category – JS Junior Suite Starboard or Port Side - Starboard Quiet Stateroom? (With comments on problems) – Yes. Heard very little noise. Could periodically hear something from rooms on either side, but never loud enough to bother you. Even when someone let their door slam, it was muffled pretty quiet. Traffic in the hall was not a concern, and didn't hear anything from the upper decks, even out on the balcony. Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - Yes. Connects with 8642. We were sailing with that couple, so we did use the connecting door. Had to have stateroom attendant's supervisor unlock door before it could be used. Didn't hear anything from other room when the door was shut. Connecting door was on the left wall (as seen from cabin door) and all the way next to the balcony. Balcony View (Give comments on view, noting if location of any obstructions was an issue) – Normal. High enough that the lifeboats didn't block anything. Great being on the starboard side... it faced the pier at all three ports on our Western Caribbean itinerary (and at Port Everlades) and was almost always facing passing islands during sea days (itinerary basically takes you in a circle around Cuba) Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - Cabin is on the "bump", so gets a little extra space away from the side of the ship. This is the last JS moving aft to get the full "bump" balcony. The next one aft was angled. Overall, nice sized balcony. 2 lounge chairs, small table and two chairs for the table, with plenty of space to move around the furniture. Was wind a problem? - Not at all. If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? - N/A Any specific problems with this cabin? - None. Any other comments? Was thrilled with this cabin and it's location. Deck 8 is a great place to be... same level as Central Park, two decks down to get to Boardwalk and three to get to Royal Promenade. We rarely used the elevators to get to those floors (unless dressed for formal nights). Reasonably close to aft elevator/stairs as well, mostly turned aft when leaving the cabin and walked through Central Park instead of going forward through the long hallway. Room also seemed a little more spacious then the JS on Freedom. Maybe we were just better organized thanks to the walk-in closet and storage around the desk. Absolutely love the Junior Suites for cruising. Other points of interest: JS gets some suite benefits, but not all. You get priority embark/disembark, full compliment of toiletries (bar soap, shower gel, shampoo, conditioner, lotion) in the bathroom, double C&A points, dedicated suite attendant. You do NOT get the gold card with access to Concierge, Sun deck, Barefoot Beach on Labadee, etc. Sometimes feels confusing about when is it a suite and when is it not. There are two 110vac electrical outlets and one 220vac electrical outlet all next to each other built into the desk, right above the surface (not the power-strip style that I've seen pictures of from Allure). Also a multi-voltage "shaver" outlet in the bathroom above mirror (tried to use the hair drier their once, but wouldn't work). Those were the only visible outlets in the room (didn't check to see if there were hidden ones under the bed or any where else).

Right by guest services on deck 4. Very central. Close to elevators and the main dining room. Noise. We thought there might be noise issues because of music in the Centrum, but the cabin is behind the centrum and there is a door at the end of the hall too. So noise was not an issue. This is a quiet area, only a few cabins in this little area so no traffic in front of the cabins. Comments. AC was quite efficient, even a little too cool at times. (With comments on problems) – Noisiest cabin in over 30 cruises. First night (well, morning at 4:00 a.m.), heard deck chairs being stacked very loudly. Second night, sounded as if the ship were breaking apart. Window rattled incessantly. Think most of the racket was due to sailing into strong winds, but this was unbearable. Last night was much better, or maybe we were just getting used to it, until about 6:00 a.m. when someone in high heels walked above the cabin. (With comments on problems) – Very quiet, with no foot traffic. Except at night when the band was playing in the centrum, and especially on 70's night till about midnight. This didn't bother us though, as we were usually out of the room till midnight, but even in the room, once the door was closed the noise was not bad. There is a large wall that blocks these rooms from the centrum and minimises the noise. It was such a great, convenient location that I would definitely book this cabin again.
