Jack&Laura Posted August 10, 2010 #1 Share Posted August 10, 2010 Anyone know which is the best side of the ship in port and when tendering?
yogimax Posted August 10, 2010 #2 Share Posted August 10, 2010 Ships can dock in either direction, port or starboard so it's much up to luck.
serene56 Posted August 10, 2010 #3 Share Posted August 10, 2010 For a caribbean cruise --side does not matter. Dpends on the port==how many ships in port a captain could back in or pull in. It varies from week to week. One day could be starboard facing the port-- the next day port side-- in some ports you could be facing another ship Grand Cayman is a tendered port- the ships front will face the island
zqvol Posted August 10, 2010 #4 Share Posted August 10, 2010 We have been on Legend three times. We have always been on the port side and have had great views of the islands.

Both NCL ships (Jewel when we departed, Dawn when we returned) were both tied up with the dock to starboard. Veendam had the dock to port. Summit was docked to starboard. In Grand Turk, we had the dock to starboard. When my parents were there two weeks earlier on Caribbean Princess, they had the dock to port, while Miracle was docked to starboard. Half Moon Cay we tendered to port. The current was going east to west, so the ship face east, as in port toward shore. All photos I have seen of HMC showed the same thing. In Nassau, we again had it to starboard, bow in, while Fantasy and Pride both backed in, and had it to starboard.
