Aquahound Posted November 3, 2010 #51 Share Posted November 3, 2010 Add me as another fan of Blackfin. Their food is delicious. I love their escargot appetizer.
aliaschief Posted December 2, 2010 Author #52 Share Posted December 2, 2010 As the OP of this thread, we will finally get to check out some of your recommendations next Monday. Will let you know what we chose but I have to admit conch fritters and stone crab our on our mind. Thanks for all the replies. You have been gracious. Hooking4 Posted December 4, 2010 #53 Share Posted December 4, 2010 We just visited Key West on Monday and had lunch at Caroline's Cafe. Seating was outdoors. I had the fish sandwich and my mom had the steak sandwich (like the Mr. Hero hot buttered steak type). Both were huge, came with fries, and very good, about $9.00 each. Service was quick and friendly. Caroline's is a great place for lunch .

keywester33 Posted January 12, 2011 #55 Share Posted January 12, 2011 As someone who lives in Key West, I can tell you Schooner Wharf is not somewhere I, or anyone else I know would eat. Great atmosphere, great drinks, but skip the food. A great food truck if you do not want to skip the crowds at BOs is Garbo's. This is a food truck on Green Street with the best fish tacos in town. Nowhere to sit, but worth getting one to go. You should also get off Duval and find Sarabeth or Azur for a more upscale lunch. Finally, I agree with the posters about the Blackfin Burgers and fries. Delish!

threeofus Posted January 26, 2011 #57 Share Posted January 26, 2011 From another local... Banana Cafe Duval eat upstairs on the porch -- crepes carolines - casual southernmost cafe - that is one of the better beaches as well. They keep up with the seaweed and there is usually music next door at the hote - it's very enjoyable. Very very casual - Ana's cuban cafe - across from the reception area of the southernmost beach hotel. Counter service and a front porch.
