how to compare

Is there a site where we can compare 2 different cruise ships. Things like how many pools each has, lounges, restaurants, etc without having to look up each one seperately and then compare.

I have not come across such a site, but there are a lot of good sites where you can look up cruise ships one at a time.

This may not be exactly what you are looking for, but there is a site that has a fairly comprehensive list of ships, it's easy to navigate, it's pretty informative and has lots of photos.

I've been cruising approximately 25 years, and haven't found such a site. I usually start a graph chart. Across the top I put the cruiseline/ship. Then down the side I put what is important to me (ports, size of ship, cost, smoking/non-smoking, excursions, etc). As you research, put an "X" in the conjoining box. As you near the end of your research, one should have more "Xs" than the others.

 

Then you get the fun of looking at all the different cruiselines. You are the one that has to do the research. But it should help you narrow down which cruise/ship you really want to take.

 

There used to be a free site that told what ships were in port on which day, but now you have to pay to even find out that info. Nobody said it was going to be easy.

 

Or as another poster on this board says, YOU COULD GO TO A CRUISE SPECIALIST and let them do all the research. Have fun planning then taking your cruise.

In my humble opinion, the ships/cruiselines are more alike than different. The newer ships on every line have more bells and whistles but all ships have all the basics. If you want to flow ride, ice skate and rock climb, go RCCL. If you want a water park go Carnival. If you want Blue Man group, ice bar, and zip line, go Epic. If you want huge, go Oasis or Allure. If you want raditional voyages, go Cunard. etc, etc. All ships have kid programs, all ships have lots of dining, and sll ships offer entertainment.

 

Sorry but you just have to let your fingers do the typing.

I do want to note that there is a book that is updated once a year and the 2010 version is called Crusing and Cruise Ships (the name changes each year) and it is pubished by Berlitz and writeen by Douglas Ward. It provides wonderful writups on all of the cruise ships. It contains tons of facts on the ships and the cruise lines and I highly recommend this book. You can order it from Amazon.Com
