Is there a lid? Can't wait to see a pix!!!

No, there is not. It's more like a bag with 2 handles. I did see someone close it by puting the shoulder strap through the handles and tying it closed.

Click this link. It is not exact, but similar:

The RCI one is yellow with the Royal Caribbean International logo on the front.

Paul, thank you. You were posting as I was asking. Glad you posted the picture, it is nothing like what I was thinking. But who cares, it works, and they are offering it, sooooooo we will buy it.

I saw a show on one of the business channels on how the cruise ships have to make so much to ........well, stay afloat. :p The one particular ship they were spotlighting was way down on their alcohol sales and only had one day to go. By the end of the week they had managed to make their goal by pushing drinks on the last day.

It was very interesting seeing a cruise ship from the angle of trying to hit their financial goal for the week.

I think I saw the same show or a similar one. They were monitoring revenues all during the week. Pretty neat how they managed it, so it was clear to me that alcohol sales were important to at least some of the crew. Never bought the buckets, but do buy 2-3 beers and take back to cabin for storage when I want a beer! No need to have to go get one, just open frig and enjoy!

We do not smuggle. I just figure I will spend an extra $100 bucks, at least, and enjoy my cruise! If I were to smuggle, I would most likely take the money saved and donate it in the casino anyway. This way, I get something tangible for my donation. :)

As an aside, I am skeptical of statements like 'I would only drink it in my cabin". We sail Celebrity a lot specifically because Celebrity sells liquor packages prior to sailing for consumption in your cabin. And yes we do take it out of our cabin at times. We are also Elite on Celebrity and Diamond on RCCL, so we get drinks in the evening as part of our loyality to RCCL and Celebrity. Another reason there is no need to smuggle for us.

I filled mine up as many times as I could, although I did go to the different bars to do so (Pool Bar, Solarium, and Sky Bar) there was no one day restriction - they come unopened (twist off) and I had some on the deck and brought some back to the room, left a couple in the fridge. Bud, Mich Ultra, Bud Lite and Bud Lite Lime was offered.

I did a search on the bottled water and found that long thread on people that got there water taken away , on the Monarch. I was on Page 10.

I think you can thank those who carefully disassembled their water cases, put alcohol in some bottles in the middle and then put it back together. Some did it with bottled tea also. Then they bragged about and posted about how to do it. They forget the cruise lines read these posts!

You can order buckets of beer and have them delivered to your cabin. We did this on our last cruise for afternoon sailaways. No issues at all.

Maybe so...but not at this price. Also...and don't quote me on this...I heard that the "regular" buckets come with opened bottles. Much better to not have them opened...

I'm somewhat of a beer snob, as well. But if I have to, I could suffer through a week of refills of Bud Light at that price if I absolutely had to.

I believe the OP said any beer you wanted except Fosters , which is a 25oz. can. Domestics come in the 16 oz. aluminum bottle and the others are 12 oz I believe.

You can have any beer domestic, or import. All beers are now 12oz. Most in glass bottles, the only cans I saw were Heineken. They have Bud Light lime, Corona, Bud, bud lt, coors lt, heineken, stella, becks, maybe a few more. They no longer have aluminum bottles. Havent had them since beginning of the yr, at least on Majesty, as we've been on her 3 times since Jan, and all 12oz. now. Fosters 25oz OIL can is a no no. So is Smirnoff Ice. If it ain't a 12oz beer, you ain't gonna get it in the bucket.

I asked one of the bartenders about bringing it back on another cruise, or on another ship, and he said as long as the color is the same. He thought they may come out with different colors for different ships, however, it is in the Royal Blue and Gold RC colors, so I would think they would all be the same.

I guess you may see some idiot trying to sell one on ebay.

That is good to know that they do have imports.:D I do love my good tasting beers! I rather pay a little more then to have to suffer on the bad tasting beers. I hope I did not affend those Bud drinkers. After Microbrews, it change my world in beer drinking!:D
