Formal nights on Freedom

I am wondering what nights have typically been formal nights on Freedom of the Seas recently. I am trying to plan the special anniversary dinner for my DH and want to do it on a non formal night. Thanks all!!!

I have read second and fifth. I also read second and sixth. Third and fourth would be safe. I will know in two weeks.

My TA told me Mon. night and Fri. night. I'm sailing on Freedom 9/05 western. Don't know if it's different for eastern. Hope it helps!

We were just on Freedom Aug 1st. Formal nights were the 2nd and the 6th.

Freedom alternates between Eastern and Western and formal nights on each is different. Whoever replies to you make sure they also tell you if they were on eastern or western and make sure it was recent.

I might be wrong, but we've always found the formal nights are the night of the Day at Sea.

That has been the norm previously, but so many routes have changed recently. On our Freedom cruise, the first formal was the first Sea Day after leaving Miami, but the last Sea Day was followed by arrival back in Miami and I believe they never do formal night on the last night because people have to pack for disembarkation. For our cruise the 2nd formal might was night 5 in Cozumel.

We've been on FOS twice this year:

 

We sailed FOS Eastern in May, and the first formal night was Day 2 - Coco Cay day

The second formal night was Day 6 - Sea day

 

We sailed FOS Western in August, and the first formal night was Day 2 - Sea day, and the second formal night was Day 5 - Grand Cayman day, so

 

Day 3 or 4 would be your best bet.

We sailed Eastern last month - Days 2 & 6 were formal nights.

Was on the Aug 22 2010 western sailing at formal nights were Days 2 and 5.

The 1st formal night on every ship is always night 2...the next will be in your Compass...usually the next to last evening on the ship.

Does anyone know if the specialty restaurants have a special menu for formal knights or is it always the same?

Ditto... we did FOS on 8/15, Eastern itinerary and it was the 2nd and 6th nights. Mon/Fri. We ended up doing Portofino on Friday. Actually did it twice and Chops once. Much better than MDR.
