CruiseAdict218 Posted September 28, 2010 #1 Share Posted September 28, 2010 If two Princess ships are in port at the same time: like if I'm on the Emerald at St. Thomas and the Ruby rolls in can I board the Ruby as a visitor? My aunt said you could do that years ago but now its probably discontinued?
Druke I Posted September 28, 2010 #2 Share Posted September 28, 2010 It was allowed years ago, but in these days of heightened security - NO.

But as said, no longer allowed, unfortunately.

Toto2Kansas Posted September 28, 2010 #6 Share Posted September 28, 2010 Dang, that sucks, when did they stop it? I can't remember the exact year, but it was sometime around 9/11 if memory serves me correctly. It could have even been before then, I just can't remember what date. But it's been quite awhile. Pam in CA Posted September 28, 2010 #8 Share Posted September 28, 2010 Dang, that sucks, when did they stop it?Right after 9/11. That's when both airport and cruise port security took a 180 turn.
caribill Posted September 28, 2010 #9 Share Posted September 28, 2010 If two Princess ships are in port at the same time: like if I'm on the Emerald at St. Thomas and the Ruby rolls in can I board the Ruby as a visitor? For that example, there would be really no reason to do this even if allowed. These two ships are virtually identical.

Sorry, I'm tired. Carry on.
Rare geoherb Posted September 28, 2010 #11 Share Posted September 28, 2010 A few years ago, someone wrote on here about getting on the wrong ship by mistake. I think it was on an Alaskan cruise. We would have loved to have been able to go on the Island when we were on the Sapphire last month. We booked the Island for our next cruise while on the Sapphire. We have not sailed on that class of ship.
