1720 OBC and room upgrade!!!!

God love the military! We are sailing on oasis for Thanksgiving and they just put on a military discount. We got a room upgrade AND a 1,720.00 obc. (Yes, we booked long before the new rules went into place about price drops!!!)

I thought $300ish I had last week was huge!!! I cant imagine spending that much onboard. How many people?? ... well I did find a $10K+ ring down 60%, so a mere $4Kish now.

I am so excited! Can't decide if I should tell my dh or keep as a surprise for when we board. THere will four of us - me, dh, dd, dss. I hope we don't spent it all! Normally there are three of us and our bill is anywhere from 700 - 1000. I don't see us spending much more than that this time around. But, yes, we WILL hit the spa!

Wow that is great. We had originally looked at that week as well way back when bookings first opened up but it was too costly for us. We booked the week after Thanksgiving instead. Fast forward to last May when a military rate opened up for the Oasis so rather than wait until November we cruised on her last May. You will LOVE IT!!!! Amazing how prices can change over the course of a year ++:p

Wow! That's great. It seems like there are always shore excursions that I am tempted to do, but the price is to high for me...that's where I'd splurge! Have fun :)

I have read on here that it is put back on your cc at the end of the cruise. I will check when I am on board, if not, oh well, more time at the bar and in the spa for me!

So i sent dh an email and said they were offering upgrades for military families and we got an upgrade to a boarkwalk balcony cabin. I said NOTHING of the obc! I think I will save the entire OBC for a surprise when we get on the ship! He was VERY excited. I noticed they still have a lot of crown loft suites available - really hoping the upgrade fairy put us in one of those!

I couldn't IMAGE doing what you and seeing what you see and having to send your son off!!! THat must be so hard for you!!! Good luck to your son and tell him Thank You! (also tell him to take you on oasis for thankgiving - the military rates are AMAZING!)

Congratulations! I saw a price drop on my category, but it disappeared in a couple of hours. HOURS. I missed it. :( But I got an upgrade from E to D for the same price - not a total loss. :)

Just wanted to tack on that we had $1.96 left in OBC from our recent cruise. The credit was from booking onboard a year earlier. I was ok with "losing" less than $2, but RCI refunded my credit card. (Wish I would've known that, we spent $40 something just to spend it the last day on board...use it rather than lose it!) I was under the impression that RCI only refunded OBC obtained by price drops.

You can't drink that much in beer and cocktails ........ I've tried :D :D...... come close, but never made it to $1,720. Stay focused ..... mix in a few good bottles of wine (as good as the ship might offer) ..... think about some really fun shore excursion ...... oh, and they will let you sign for chips in the casino!! :D
