Tips, Tricks, or things to know about Carnivals Casinos

I think that $5 is for table games only.

It is a match play chip.

You can play it like real money and if you win you are paid in real money but the chip otherwise has no value. You cannot cash it in. The only thing that can happen is to lose it.

I once got one and won eight hands in a row with it! The dealer was starting to call attention to me!

Don't go in there.

The smoke will kill you! :D

If you must play, have a set amount for the cruise. Divide that amount up into different sessions so you don't lose your entire allotment on one visit.

If you win, wonderful, but if you lose your set amount, then you are done for the cruise.

Never ever ever think that you should replenish your funds after you lose them ... it is like drinking to get over a hangover ... not wise!

I like the first night out.... roulette is just $.50 instead of a dollar. I think the other table games are lower also.. but may be mistaken. Our last cruise, I won quite a bit of money on the roulette table the first night and that was my gambling money the rest of the week!!

As salty stated, set yourself a certain amount and don't go over it. Just like any casino, plan on losing it. If you win great, if not.... oh well, you had fun.

When you hit a good pay out on a slot machine, take your money and run! If you keep playing, that one armed bandid WILL take back your winnings. My plan for NEXT TIME (didn't do it this time and lost) is to cash out (to Player Account) and move to another machine every time my balance is a few dollars higher than what I started with. MAYBE I will come out ahead that way. :o

I know it is all random and does not really make a difference... but that is exactly what we do too!

Another thing we do is play slots as a couple. I like the table games but DW likes slots, and I like her, so we play slots even though I know they have terrible odds.

We make it a couples event where we take turns pulling the handle, or we will put one hand on top of the other's hand and pull together.

We also have pretty low limits so we really don't care if we win or lose it all, and that makes it a lot more fun than if you are really intent on winning!!

Not a big gambler, but I do enjoy it on occasion. I have heard that if you buy a signature cocktail to take your receipt to the casino for $5 in casino credits, but what other tips, Tricks, or things to know are out there?

What is a signature cocktail? A DOD or something else?

Face Up Blackjack is a huge ripoff. Don't play. Dealer wins any push, so if you both have 18, you must hit. I don't think I saw anybody win in face up blackjack.

Also, when playing a game like blackjack, it's better to play with at a table where the players know what they are doing. Of course if you're the one that doesn't know how to play, don't be afraid to ask for help. Much better to ask for advice if you don't know to hit on the 13 when dealer is showing a 6. It will be much worse if you pull the 10 that would have been the dealer's bust card.

Don't go in there.

That is what I told a friend, this was his first cruise.

He is a smoker and liked the casino because of that and he ended up playing penny machines.

This man ended up with enough money to pay for his cruise and everything he bought in port plus a little more. Beginners luck I guess.

gone are the cheap days---lol and the limit on roulette is now $3.00 instead of 1.00

tables are still crowded though (except with me in the crowd) Carnival isnt hurting for people in their casino.

Biggest tip I have is "don't bother". :D

All kidding aside, stay away from the slots. They have them cranked down so low its ridiculous. They don't have to have the same payouts as casinos on land because they are not regulated at sea. If you're going to gamble, play a game they can't change the odds on - blackjack or craps or something.

Best tip I can offer is to use the slots as an ATM for cash off your account without paying a cash advance fee or an ATM charge.

If you used your S&S to get cash at the tables you get charged 3% (I think)...but if you put your S&S into a slot machine, and charge $100 to your account onto your S&S, take that to the cage and you get $100..no ATM feel, no charges...it shows up as "Entertainment" on your S&S bill.:D

This must not be fleet wide. I was on the Miracle last week and the minimum on roulette was $1 throughout the week.

Make sure when you are finished with a slot machine, the money on the machine went to "0" and try to play it again, to make sure it is empty.

Or

I will come behind you and collect your money that you left on the machine.

several times on the Dream in April I went to a machine and put in my card, transfered money, it was always $10.00 increments, and found that I had more then $10.00 worth of credits. One time it was $85.00 on top of my $10. I took the money out and then put $10.00 again and played. Then I went to the cashier and cashed out $80.00 What a win!!!

One other time, DW and I were waiting for a machine, and when the lady (I say lady just because she was female, she was no lady) tried to get her friend to come from another machine to play hers because it was paying well, after a few choice words, she stormed off mad, making rude comments because we would not let her friend jump in front of us (we had been waiting about 15 minutes)

DW put in her card, loaded $10.00 and I realized it had over $100 on it, I had her cash out and reload, about that time, the "Lady" came back by, I think she was looking to see if we had her money, never asked, and we never said.

So back to my original thought,

Make sure you leave the machine WITH your money on your card.

I am wondering if time of year reflects the table limits. Actually it was March 7th- start of spring break weeks.

What you did feels rather dishonest to me. I can see if you walk up to a machine, load in your card and discover there's money remaining from a previous customer. But this woman left the machine, returned and appeared to be looking for her funds, though she didn't ask, and you guys said absolutely nothing. Quite frankly I would say you guys stole this woman's money and should have mentioned it to her, instead of waiting, that she left money on the machine. That's just my opinion of course and I know most others will probably differ.
