Diamond Plus on the Oasis

We will be on next weekend.....what kind of GOOD STUFF can we expect?

Do they do the bridge tour? Galley Tour?....I was told about the Helipad Sail away today.....Did you also do that? Did the Concierge help you get into shows even though you did not have reservations or wanted to change dinner reservations? All and any info is very much appreciated.

Happy Sailing

Mike, the concierge will put a sticker on your SeaPass card which will get you into any show, even without reservations.

They offered Bridge and Galley tours.

The Champagne Sailaway will come as an invitation on your stateroom TV. (so check your messages!)

It is usually a sail-a-way party from one of the Islands, for us it was from Labadee, invites come through on the state room TV, so watch your messages.:)

How did you find out about the Helipad Sail away?

We are also diamond but didn't get any message?

I didn't know this until now, is it the DL concierge and/or the CL concierge that does this? Do they do this when you enter the lounge on the first night or do you have to ask?

This must be something new as on both of my Oasis cruises, only those with gold SeaPass cards were given the sticker. It may also depend on the number of D+ on board. We had a LOT last January.

I guess I'll be bringing my can of Gold spray paint just in case! :D

Along with the TV info we received a printed invitation in our cabin for the helipad sail away.

Hey you are welcome, the FOD on The Oasis is usually a good crowd, although the meeting point is normally the Champagne bar, after the first night you will find its influences all over the ship. So many of my wifes friends on FB are FODs she has met on various ships, I was considering changing her name by deed poll to D :D. There are a great crowd of us sailing the first few weeks on The Allure, particularly over Christmas period, why dont you consider joining the fun.

First night dining is always a hard one, if you are considering using the 241 then go with 150 central park, that way you get best value for money out of the deal. Although if you do use the MDR then first night is the best night to meet fellow dining table mates.

Also make sure you do book The Chefs Table during the week, it is a real highlight. Whatever you do, and whoever you meet, have fun, you will love The Oasis.:)

Mike the menu at 150 Central Park changed on the Oct 16 sailing and it was delicious. An improvement in my mind from the previous menu. We really enjoyed it and one of us did the wine pairing with it.:D I agree150 Central Park the 2 for 1 would be a good choice the first night. It is more like a tasting menu and not huge portions. You leave there satisfied but not stuffed. Very nice dining experience. I almost liked it better than the Chef's Table which was also awesome. I did that on the inaugural sailing though

New menu started on Oct 16. It is as follows

King Crab & Avocado Salad ~ finished with grapefruit segments, micro basil and lime aioli

Camembert & Lager Soup ~ with spiced caramel corn, bacon bits and watercress

Lobster Medallions~ with mango chorizo, and crisp sweet potatoes

Pan -Seared Halibut ~ Pea risotto, red pepper coulis and Parmesan crisp

Pancetta-wrapped Veal Tenderloin ~ mustard spatzle, broccolini, red wine, apple puree and merlot reduction

Park 150 Bliss ~ Miniature chocolate cake with a soft Velrhona centre, classic vanilla creme brulee, cappuccino gelato and Grand Marnier marinated orange segments.

Chip,

We also plan on doing everything as you have said, but we don't sail on Oasis until April. I thought the same thing as to book 150 Central Park for the first night as it's the best value and we are also going to book the Chef's Table when that opens up because they told me that it's too early to book now for next April.

We usually look at the Bulletin Board for any FOD meetings as the venue can change sometimes, but the Champagne Bar is a good selection and I just hope it's not some weird meeting time. Looking forward to meeting your wife some day (and you too!)

Really - so I didn't need to reserve all the entertainment times? I am hoping this is the case with the Allure.

The champagne sailaway sounds terrific.

Thanks.

The Concierge will assist you with loads of things, including all of the things you listed, it is a shame that Reyno is not returning to the Oasis this week, you boys would have loved him. FYI, FOD meetings are usually in The Champagne Bar.

OK...what is a FOD meeting?

Mike,

WHen you are onboard - can you see if your D+ status will get you into the reserved section of the pool? Thank you!

I used to live in Huntington Beach and Laguna Beach years ago. When I lived in Laguna I worked for a startup internet company. We mostly got paid with stock options and IOUs. I loved it there but was the poorest person in town. Even when I got paid my paycheck didn't cover my rent. Thank God for savings.

The sail-away party on the helipad was really neat. A number of ship's officers will be there for chat or to answer questions.

I agree I do not think we really needed it. From what we were told the only place we required reservations and could not just walk into was the Comedy Show.

Regarding the shows if D+ does that mean you can go in at any time and not wait to the 10 minutes before the show starts rule to be allowed in? If so that is great.

We went to a few shows as 'walk ins' and the available seats were not that plentiful or great seats.
