MTD - another question!!

Is MTD an option if you miss regular dining time in MDR? Do they check your sea pass at the door to MTD?

 

I have no problem going to Windjammer, but just wondered if we could use MTD.

No, you cannot show up for MTD if you miss your traditional seating time. You can only use MTD if you have signed up for it (either in advance or by switching to it on your cruise). They do check cabin numbers at the entrance.

No it's not. MTD requires you to be signed up in advance and prepay your tips. They also check your seapass at the door, to make sure you are already signed up and on the list.

A one-night MTD is not doable because with MTD, the tips are prepaid. You either pay for them with your final payment before boarding, or on your Sea Pass account before starting MTD. They ask for your cabin number at the desk and that way, they are checking to see if your tips are prepaid and if you have indeed signed up for MTD.

 

WJ is an option if you miss Traditional Dining one evening, or you can have room service, Specialty Restaurants, or one of the other complimentary venues onboard.

You can always sign up for MTD and then set up reservations each night at 6pm. Then you can change it if necessary. We have done this for our cruise next week. 3 nights we are eating at 6pm. 1 night at 7:15pm after our son goes to Adventure Ocean and then one night at Chops at 8:00pm. Then you don't really have to worry!

On most ships if you have a reservation at MTD you will be seating within moments. Most tables in the MTD section are 2 or 4 tops and most dine with just their party so yes you can get a table for 4.
