boewok Posted November 12, 2010 #1 Share Posted November 12, 2010 Is MTD an option if you miss regular dining time in MDR? Do they check your sea pass at the door to MTD? I have no problem going to Windjammer, but just wondered if we could use MTD. Thanks Barb

You can only use MTD if you have signed up for it (either in advance or by switching to it on your cruise). They do check cabin numbers at the entrance. They also check your seapass at the door, to make sure you are already signed up and on the list.
Langley Cruisers Posted November 12, 2010 #4 Share Posted November 12, 2010 Hi Barb, A one-night MTD is not doable because with MTD, the tips are prepaid. You either pay for them with your final payment before boarding, or on your Sea Pass account before starting MTD. They ask for your cabin number at the desk and that way, they are checking to see if your tips are prepaid and if you have indeed signed up for MTD. WJ is an option if you miss Traditional Dining one evening, or you can have room service, Specialty Restaurants, or one of the other complimentary venues onboard. EDITED to add: Oooof! We were all madly typing at the same time! :D
boewok Posted November 12, 2010 Author #5 Share Posted November 12, 2010 for your replies. Not trying to avoid paying tips. Just wondered if it was an option for a night. Thanks again
sargenet Posted November 12, 2010 #6 Share Posted November 12, 2010 You can always sign up for MTD and then set up reservations each night at 6pm. Then you can change it if necessary. We have done this for our cruise next week. 3 nights we are eating at 6pm. 1 night at 7:15pm after our son goes to Adventure Ocean and then one night at Chops at 8:00pm. Then you don't really have to worry!
ahornb Posted November 12, 2010 #7 Share Posted November 12, 2010 How long do you typically have to wait for your table toe ready if you have a MTD reservation time? Can you request a table size (ie table for 4)?
akcruz Posted November 12, 2010 #8 Share Posted November 12, 2010 How long do you typically have to wait for your table toe ready if you have a MTD reservation time? Can you request a table size (ie table for 4)? On most ships if you have a reservation at MTD you will be seating within moments. Most tables in the MTD section are 2 or 4 tops and most dine with just their party so yes you can get a table for 4.
