TriMomma Posted November 25, 2010 #1 Share Posted November 25, 2010 I have become the tour organizer for my group of friends (since I am a research weenie, lol). We are a group of 7 families that have sailed on Disney twice and have our next cruise narrowed down to: 1. Freedom of the Seas - December 18, 2011 for five nights. or 2. Jewel of the Seas - December 19, 2011 for five nights. Any recommendations?
cb at sea Posted November 25, 2010 #2 Share Posted November 25, 2010 Freedom will give the kids more to do....but either ship will give you a great vacation! Freedom has the Royal Promenade, but Jewel has the self-leveling pool tables...but i'm pretty sure you have to be a certain age to use them. The adult Solarium pool on Freedom is open, so you can tan. On Jewel, the roof is seldom, if ever, opened, which means no tanning in there. I think I'd lean toward Freedom for the kids! crusinmama06 Posted November 25, 2010 #3 Share Posted November 25, 2010 Freedom of the Seas -- no doubt. For kids, there is much more to do. H20 Zone, Flowrider Surfing and the Ice Skating Rink. Your only problem with the Freedom is trying to figure out how you are going to do it all in just 5 little days. ;)
39august Posted November 25, 2010 #4 Share Posted November 25, 2010 Absolutely Freedom with kids. Save Jewel for an adults only cruise.

There is no way that it is fair for you to do all that work for seven families. If you are going to need more than 7 cabins, a good agent can help you run your cruise through the group booking department at Royal Caribbean, and get "stuff" for you, including at least one free berth. (not cabin, not taxes & fees, but a single berth, one per eight cabins booked) Oh, and I vote for Freedom, too. :)
kruzerci Posted November 26, 2010 #6 Share Posted November 26, 2010 Freedom hands down! We liked the Jewel but it was our least favorite RC cruise, we just didn't love the Radiance class but Freedom and Liberty are our absolute favorites family or no family! michigal Posted November 26, 2010 #7 Share Posted November 26, 2010 I also recommend the Freedom. The Jewel and Freedom are both great ships, but the Freedom offers much more activities for the kids. Have a great cruise!
TriMomma Posted November 26, 2010 Author #8 Share Posted November 26, 2010 First recommendation: Get a good travel agent. :) Thanks for all the info everyone! That seems to settle it! Freedom is the overwhelming choice! Yes, I plan to find a travel agent, but wanted to know what I was going to ask for before I got there.
