Rare MistyRo76 Posted December 24, 2010 #2 Share Posted December 24, 2010 Leaving on the Triumph 12/27/10, do we need to take hangers for our clothes?? I always pack extra hangars. There are quite a few in the closets...probably more than you would see in a hotel closet. But if you like to hang your nicer clothes, then I would pack some extra. I usually try to pack about 10-15 because I like to hang most of my clothes.
firefly333 Posted December 24, 2010 #3 Share Posted December 24, 2010 We have gotten anywhere from 4 extra hangers to maybe 20 last time (a record). Typically we get around a dozen, and 2 have robes on them and so thats 5 each
Unknotted Posted December 24, 2010 #4 Share Posted December 24, 2010 I usually take a few extra metal hangers. I can bend the hook of the metal ones to make them work better in ship's closets. I don't always need to use ours, but they don't take much room or weigh much in my luggage so I take them, just in case.

MrPete Posted December 24, 2010 #6 Share Posted December 24, 2010 Your steward will handle all your needs. Need more hangers? Ask and you shall receive!
SCUBA Mark Posted December 24, 2010 #7 Share Posted December 24, 2010 We pack our hang-up clothes in a hang-up bag. It takes two seconds to take them out and put them in the closet and two seconds to put them bag in the bag at the end of the cruise.
GlendaleCruiser Posted December 24, 2010 #8 Share Posted December 24, 2010 Your steward will handle all your needs. Need more hangers? Ask and you shall receive! Most always, yes. Although our steward on the Dream had a hard time finding them because it was the first cruise out, but he managed. I usually take a dozen of the dry cleaners wire hangers and then leave them when I come home.

Justsyd Posted December 24, 2010 #10 Share Posted December 24, 2010 We have never needed to take extra hangers - there were always more than enough - but if you need more, just ask!
hockeyluver Posted December 24, 2010 #11 Share Posted December 24, 2010 I always bring extra hangers, then leave them in the closet when they kick us off the ship.

tkportersat Posted December 24, 2010 #13 Share Posted December 24, 2010 I pack my own and leave them behind (wire hangers from the cleaners)...I don't like the built in closet hangers that you have to unlatch and there never seem to be enough. I always pack extra hangars. There are quite a few in the closets...probably more than you would see in a hotel closet. But if you like to hang your nicer clothes, then I would pack some extra. evandbob Posted December 24, 2010 #14 Share Posted December 24, 2010 Leaving on the Triumph 12/27/10, do we need to take hangers for our clothes?? You asked if you need to bring hangers. The answer is no. There should be a sufficient quantity in your statement closet. If you need more, ask your steward. If you want to bring hangers, that's your business, and a different question. Nowisthetime1 Posted December 24, 2010 #15 Share Posted December 24, 2010 There are some hangers and the steward can usually get some extras. It mostly depends on the passengers. We take alot of cloths so we take extra ourselves as we usually can not get as many as we need. Have fun
sjcruiser Posted December 25, 2010 #16 Share Posted December 25, 2010 I have a pretty large rolling garment bag, so I leave all the shirts and pants on the hanger. I also stick a couple extra inside any bag that they'll fit. They're all wire type hangers, so if they get bent, it's easy to undo.

jebuell Posted December 25, 2010 #18 Share Posted December 25, 2010 Why no wire hangers? Although, I worked in the wardrobe department of a TV show once (just once was enough) and wire hangers are a HUGE no-no in the fashion world. They tend to "pull" shirts at the shoulders area creating these little indents (um... updents? That's not a word but they're not really indents since they stick out). Also, they can discolor lighter colored clothing. So, technically, Mommy Dearest wasn't all out of line on this particular issue. :p

crzndeb Posted December 26, 2010 #20 Share Posted December 26, 2010 Alcouple, If you have never seen the movie Mommie Dearest with Joan Crawford, you wouldn't understand the line. It is a very famous line from that movie. I have been known to say it myself when seeing wire coat hangers...LOL
