What items have you brought and never used.

 

(not talking medicine/emergency kits or extra clothes)

I brought beef jerky and candies, but it turned out there's food in a lot of places most of the times. :rolleyes:

Duct Tape, highlighters, sea sick pills (& I hope to never need to use them), flashlight, over the door shoe thingy.

I would have to say the power strip. We were able to get by without plugging it in. We have used it in the past, but I think we could get by without it from now on.

I agree with the power strip....almost everything can be plugged and unplugged...no need to keep everything attached to the power supply all the time!

 

"Wraps" for formal night.....I've always lugged them and never needed them. They're a pain in the a** to carry around, anyway!

Another vote for the plug strip. I've brought one in the past but forgot it on my last cruise. I didn't even need it. One less thing to pack for me!:)

High heels are a necessity when it comes to my night's out; but on a cruise, all you need are your two feet to have fun... ok... Maybe some sandals in lieu :confused::D

Binoculars....however I left them at home one other time and wished several times that I had them.

Let's see if I can remember all the things I purchased for our first cruise and never used: water wallet, more than one disposable underwater camera, over the door shoe holder, water shoes (X's 4), address book for postcards (never sent them :o), travel journal (now I use a small notepad), extra bag for packing souvenirs, cooler for the beach, thermal coffee mugs, post it notes, highlighter pen.

 

A lot of this stuff is used by some people, I just found all the above to be unnecessary for us.

 

There's more but it's been since 1998 and I don't recall it all.

 

The most costly items were all the new clothes I bought for the whole family. I really thought cruising was a luxury vacation and people would be more dressed up than they were. That was an expensive lesson learned, now I just pack from the clothing I already have.

Thankfully didn't use any over the counter meds (bonine, pepto, etc.) except Advil for too much rum ;)

Duct tape, travel size toilet paper, bug spray, and power strip. I'll probably continue to take that stuff, since there was a time when I needed them but didn't have them.

So what is this thing about Duct Tape? I've even asked a friend in the USA to sent me a role of bright pink Duck brand Duck tape from the USA, as all we have here is dull grey stuff.

Well, anyway, I'm taking a roll. It isn't that big an item, but I've had to ask a friend to send me a roll of Duck brand in shocking pink from the States. Here all you can get is plumber's silver or black.
