It shows the time as 6;00 a.m. Can anyone tell me what time a person actually has to be off the ship. We are trying to arrange transfers and hotels - and not sure how early to book. I'm thinking 8;30 a.m. should be a good time to book the romeinlimo for picking us up? hopefully we can leave our luggage at the hotel if early check in at 10;00 is not permitted. any help or suggestions would be appreciated. thanks!! This is our very first cruise - so it's all a learning experience. We're very excited about the Mediterranean cruise we've booked.....and now have our hotels booked for pre and post cruise. 2 nights in Venice and 3 in Rome. Just gotta figure out the details of how much time to allow for embarking and disembarking.... Apparently we embark - but don't leave until the following day....so not sure about the timing of when we get on the ship and if we just get right back off again or what happens! thanks again everyone! In your cruise packet it will tell you what time you can embark depending on your cabin Cat Suites can embark early around 11:30 am others probably anywhere from 1pm to 3pm Your cabin may not be ready until 3 pm though so if you want to drop your carry on You could always have lunch on the ship then head off siteseeing Yes you can get on and off again as long as you are onboard 1 hr prior to sail away you should be fine disembarkation ...they will send a form to you cabin a few days before the last day asking about your arrangements EG time of flights or if you are independent etc... Presume it's after final payment - but how close to the cruise date? Does it come from Oceania or from the TA? We gave our Arizona address - but we may not get there until a week or so before our cruise. Would they notify us via email if there were any changes or problems....or would they do t by mail? For example, we received ours yesterday for Marinas 2/8/11 sailing Aside from all of the ticketing and schedule information, the documents are included in a beautiful personalized folder which sumarizes your entire cruise. Debbie On the three other ships (I do not know if it will be any different with Marina), all passengers were asked to vacate the cabin by 8 AM and the ship by 9 AM at the latest. We simply took our carry-on luggage to breakfast at the Terrace Cafe with us. Easy to locate your portered luggage in the terminal when everyone else is off before you! Mura Posted December 30, 2010 #10 Share Posted December 30, 2010 Yes, generally they want you off the ship asap since they have to start cleaning the rooms for the new passengers. They will tell you to be out of your room early -- but we have generally just hung out in the room until we needed to leave (we are generally independent passengers) and never had a problem. You will pack up your luggage the night before. With Renaissance they picked up luggage (as far as I recall) around 2am but Oceania generally says have it out in the hall by 10pm. Be sure to reserve clothing for the next day! And necessary toiletries. The worst problems are for people with early flights, and from what I have heard if you have to leave extra early -- you generally can, assuming the ship has docked and cleared customs. If you are going to a hotel, you can take your time -- that is, until they throw you off. But yes, they want you off by 9am although sometimes (on occasion) 10am has worked. The ship is not supposed to arrive in Miami until 10:00 am. so all flights had to be arranged after 3:00 PM. Hopefully since there will not be passengers boarding maybe we can have breakfast and lunch on the ship before we leave. Anyone think this might happen or it may be a very long wait at the airport? It's not just a matter of preparing the cabins, there is an important Coast Guard inspection of the new ship and all passengers must be disembarked. You have an extra day (presumably in Venice).. Embark around noon to 5Pm. No time pressure. You then can get right back off if you wish. Take the Alilaguna M line if you want a direct water bus to St mark's. You can have dinner on board or in the city. On the day you leave, you can make your way into town again as long as you are back on board an hour before departure. Another easy way into town is the people mover tram to Piazzal Roma followed by a cruise up the grand canal on the Vaporetto. Or you can walk from P. Roma to St. mark's in about 35 minutes. And I agree with Hondorner, they will undoubtedly have a ton to do on the ship upon its arrival. I think the reason we might be arriving around 10 a.m. is the fact there might be a "welcome" of sorts for the new ship since Miami is its home. Can't wait to see. See everyone soon. Even if we approach much earlier, we'll probably slow to a crawl in order to arrive at 10:00 AM for welcome ceremonies (like maybe fireboats) and maximum press exposure.
