Yes I did get it, thank you!

I had the idea to get a second email. For my cruising "stuff" just have to find a reliable email account somewhere... Maybe Gmail :)

Thanks again!!!!

FYI...I did a slot pull on the Grand last month and decided to inform the manager. They didn't offer anything special but the manager did set the machine so that nobody could use it. We wound up with only $10 left on the machine and decided to let the person that won the most on there spin to continue to play. We didn't win any money but had lots of fun which is the reason for doing the slot pull.

Hi Tom,

Thanks for the comments. How many played? After everyone put in their money, did you play off some of the winnings or was it only $10 on the machine that you totally won.

There are so many ways take care of the money after everyone has put in their $15. We all have to agree up front before play starts as to how the Slot Pull is handled.

After everyone took their turn, we only had 10 people, we all agreed at the end to let the person that had won the most of their spin to keep spinning rather than giving everyone $1 back.

Ann, you are awesome! I have read this entire thread and collected a wealth of information. I would have made the BIG mistake of alerting the casino host prior had I not read this thread.

How is it I have been on 27 cruises and never attend a group slot pull? I have no idea  Any ho.. somebody on our roll call had it listed as an activity to do IF someone would volunteer to organize it. Well that's me! I love the casino and this sounds like bunches of fun.

I would love to receive your spreadsheet to pjspieces hot mail you know the rest right?

Thank you so very much

FYI. I am about to do my second Slot Pull on the Grand Princess. Last April I did talk to the Casino Manager just to make sure we did not select a time that would compete when they were having an activity. I did not tell him exactly when we would be there. He was nice enough to give me several really nice T-Shirts and caps (embroidered) for prizes.

So, it can be advantageous to talk to the Casino Host. I will do it again in a couple weeks and this time I will ask if he has any prizes to contribute (if he does not offer first).

Linda,

I do appreciate your feedback on your Slot Pull experiences. That is great to hear. Planning and organizing a Slot Pull is really good for the Casino as it may draw people in who normally would not have gone in to gamble. I guess I am just too pessimistic to think that if the casino has advance notice of a Slot Pull that they may not set the odds a little lower on the machines. Did you all win any money or break close to even on your SLot Pull? As long as everyone has fun and is laughing and cheering each other on in their quest for the Jackpot. Enjoy.

$2.00 each :p

Our Slot Pull went great thanx to all the helpful info here and especially to Ann for the spreadsheet :) I preloaded my spreadsheet at home with the 27 people that expressed an interest and arranged by cabin # (best Idea ever) so easy to find each player when they were ready to play. We had a total of 32 players and all but 1 of the original 25 played.

I put it out there before we sailed on our Roll Call that I would collect the $15.00 at our "Meet and Greet" at sail away for all those wanting to prepay. I would say about half prepaid the day before. Once a player paid they were given a card with their "Pull #" with instructions to keep the card as this was their receipt to collect winnings.

We also as a group decided to ask the Casino Host for goodies. Each player received a $5.00 match play coupon on and keychain plus we had a 1st and 2nd place prize cup with assorted goodies from the casino.

I fed all the money into the machine prior to play and called each person when it was their turn to spin. What a great group we had. Everybody cheered the other players and we had a blast. The $2.00 win was just icing on the cake.

I took our winning chit out of the machine and the Casino cash cage attended graciously made my 32 piles of $17.00 for us.

I would most definitely would do it again. I would also recommend putting all money in at one time as we did.

Good Luck to all!
