Fuel Surcharge?

Has the fuel surcharge been implemented?

As of yesterday, when we booked our cruise, it had not been implemented.

We are cruising Feb. 28, and have not heard anything. We also booked a cruise yesterday on MSC and they did not say anything. This trip will be in Nov. however.

Be aware that if it is reinstated, that Carnival and all the lines have said all along, and is posted on their websites, that it will apply from that date forward, including already booked cruises. They made it very clear this time to avoid any issues with the FL AG.

I just read where John Heald said that Carnival is NOT instituting a Fuel Surcharge at this time.

OP, thanks for asking. I was wondering the same thing (guess I should figure out the search box:rolleyes:). Not much we can do to control if they do start charging, but my budget would be MUCH happier if they don't.

Assuming a fuel surcharge does get implemented..............how is that factored into the cost if we have already booked? We are going on our honeymoon and are booked for October 1. When we paid, the fuel surcharge was not in place. If they do implement it, do they just hit our sail and sign cards with it??

I haven't had it on Carnival, but on NCL it was added to your on board account. Pay up before you get off the ship :).

And needs to be answered every day. Especially since the price of oil is looking to skyrocket if Egypt continues to get worse.

That's a major reason I'm worried about it being implemented....that and the busy summer travel season.
