Hi Mike-

I'm sailing on Pride on Sunday... I'm really enjoying your review... It's giving me my cruise fix while I wait for Sunday! Anyway, I read the article about your wife Tracy... very cool! She seems like an amazing person. I wish her lots of luck! Thanks for the review!

Mike...thanks for posting the article about Tracy...it's inspiring! I retired from public safety but was non-sworn... I know it's a great career and know she will do great in her training!

Also don't worry about the bathroom question:D ...I think maybe there are counters:)

It is quite interesting to see Pride's decor, compared to her sistership Miracle, same deck plan, but a very different look. Pride looks brighter and more elaborate, whereas Miracle is subtle and serene. It would be interesting to compare to the other 4 ships in the class, aside from the obvious funnel differences on the 2 Costa Cruise Lines ships

I don't know if I'd call the "Alien Lung" decor of Miracle's MDR subtle!:D

What a wonderful article about Tracy! It made me teary eyed as I read it. Sad but mostly inspiring and uplifting! Good for Tracy and all the best for her in reaching her dream. It seems she has worked hard for it and is well deserved!

..since Tracy has a black belt she can just use the Alberta translator...thats where you bang the guys head into a table til he understands English

that joke goes over really well with the Ottawa types.

six months will fly by...and the RCMP have no money for relocation so Tracy should get posted to home...

Gotta say, I really like this review and thread. This is what CC is supposed to be about, IMHO.

Mike, glad to see that Tracy made it safely...wow about ironing the sheets and pillowcases, though:eek: I don't think I would do so well there!

Based on this review, and others, I think I would seriously consider the Pride in 2013!

Hope you and the kids are well :)

So I was standing in line at the grocery store this morning and lo and behold guess whose picture was staring up at me. Great article. A friend of mine went through training about a year ago and is now posted up north. I know being separated for the six months was not easy for the man and his wife, but when he returned they were thrilled to be starting their new life together. Best of luck to Tracy.

Good for her for going for her dream!!! My dh has been a police officer for 17 years and it definitely takes a special person to do the job.

Good luck to Tracy (and to you while see is gone)

You definitely have an amazing wife! She is very inspiring and this just goes to show you can do anything if you try hard enough. Good luck to her! I also hope the next few months aren't too hard on you and your kids...I'm sure it will be hard not having her around.

P.S. don't forget to water the plants ;)

We went to the Normandie Dining room for lunch, we sat with a nice young couple who later became our teammates in the ‘Carnival Quest" game.

Tracy had California Roll, Mongolian Steak Salad and Strawberry Banana Mousse while I had Caribbean Pepper Pot, Oven Fresh Sun-Dried Tomato Shrimp Baguette and Creme Caramel. All very good.

Nice to see DW and me in your great review.

We really hated the smoke in the casino so we ended up staying away from the 2nd level.

We used the 3rd deck instead so as to avoid the smoke.

Since we had ATD on the 3rd deck ,this worked fine.

Couldn't pass up putting such a nice looking couple could I.:)

I have to say, you write the best reviews. Thanks for taking the time to do this. It doesn't look like there are many people on the ship. Looking forward to reading the rest and seeing the pictures..

Thanks for sharing the article about Tracy, she is an amazing women and very accomplished.

I did notice Tracy with a bag in her hand after shopping in one of your pictures. I guess she found something.

What a change from cruise ship dining to ironing your own sheets!;);)

After lunch we went on the Lido Deck, definitely warmer than yesterday, many are in t-shirts and swimsuits . Enjoyed the sun for a while.
