Janice M Posted March 6, 2011 #51 Share Posted March 6, 2011 It seems on every cruise I've been on there's always some "characters." On the Brilliance we had what I called the "MuuMuu Patrol." They were three older, heavy set ladies (one in a wheel chair) who wore MuuMuus every day and we saw them everywhere slowly pushing their wheelchair travelmate all over the ship. Then there were the crazy hat ladies on the Explorer. They would wear a different crazy hat every day and were always a fixture in the Schooner lounge at night. Then there's my teenage daughter who has taken to wearing a winter wool hat (the kind with the ear flaps and big fluffy ball on top). She now wears it every second of every cruise - she even wore it under her helmet while doing a canopy tour in Jamaica! And just curious, where do service dogs do their "business" onboard? There is a "litter" box on the outside promonade deck. Its about 4X4 feet. Jan
caanma Posted March 6, 2011 #52 Share Posted March 6, 2011 Large family group of Mennonites, I don't think the Amish cruise. A group of late teen girls "sunbathing" by the pool. They were all wearing the white head covers, long sleeve dresses with aprons but had their shoes and socks off and hems pulled up to mid thigh. 19 days to next sailing, not that I am counting. hancock Posted March 7, 2011 #54 Share Posted March 7, 2011 Viewed a passenger on his balcony across the pier from our ship. He was oblivious to the passengers on our ship across the way. He came out on the balcony only in his drawers and proceeded to scratch himself in his privates.
Coralc Posted March 7, 2011 #55 Share Posted March 7, 2011 That contest does bring out some interesting characters doesn't it? This guy decided to dress up for the "Women's Sexy Biceps" competition on our transatlantic cruise: http://i190.photobucket.com/albums/z78/plhunt2/Navigator_TA132.jpg[/img]"] :D:D:D

He sleeps in the buff, and when we docked in Nassau he got of bed and threw the curtains wide open in our balcony cabin. He very quickly threw them closed and ran back to bed and pulled the covers over his head. I asked him what was the matter? He said, "There's a ship docked right next to us, and people out on their balcony. " :D:D

Cruzin RN Posted March 7, 2011 #58 Share Posted March 7, 2011 These are great..enjoyed all of them!!! My experience: Our table mates (50ish). came to dinner the last night totally wasted. One of them decided that there wasnt enough crumbs on the table for the waiter to brush off so he decided to create some by taking his roll and rolling it between his palms until he had a small mountain of crumbs....the waiter smiled as he brushed them away.. AND WE wonder why other countries believe Americans are jerks?????

Rancher Dave Posted March 7, 2011 #60 Share Posted March 7, 2011 A middle aged very drunk woman. Travelling alone, came to dinner very drunk, she was loud and rude. Then all of a sudden she went quiet. She was choking on a peice of meat. She began to turn blue and pass out. I jumped up and did the himlich maneuver on her. The meat was dislodged as her airway cleared. ( she puked on her plate.) The others at her table left in disgust and she asked to see the dessert menu. No kidding. The waiters served her. Can you believe it?? I saw the choking thing at a texmex place we used to like, before it went out of business. Not on a ship but quite a scene...her mom helped her, then she too puked. Of my cruises probably the worst was the woman who needed not wear a thong bikini walking thru lots of public areas in just that...really a bad view for everyone around. lounger Posted March 7, 2011 #61 Share Posted March 7, 2011 Leaving Miami on our NCL Epic cruise my husband noticed from our balcony a topless girl on a speed boat .It's a good thing my 13 year old son wasnt out there too. Also,on that same cruise there was a passenger who was dressed like a gorilla, another night he was santa and on another occasion he wore a hat with "Poop" on it.He wasnt denied entrance to the dining rooms either.Go figure. TerB Posted March 7, 2011 #62 Share Posted March 7, 2011 Last year on the NCL Dawn, while getting off the boat in Cozumel, a man punched the NCL Dolphin mascot. It was a fake punch, but nonetheless..
foxesden1 Posted March 7, 2011 #63 Share Posted March 7, 2011 On our December Navigator, a grown woman passenger, who appeared sane otherwise, wore Pajamas and big animal slippers everywhere, all day (she did change out to different PJs - although they mostly looked flannel). She wore them to breakfast; she wore them to line dancing and trivia; she wore them drinking cocktails, and she wore them in the prominade (and thats just the places I saw her.) Now that was very strange. It didn't bother me either - its her vacation. Maybe her bags where lost?

Caleo Posted March 7, 2011 #68 Share Posted March 7, 2011 Last cruise - we had a guy from Texas (think his name was Mike) who made our cruise so funny! Belly Flop, Leg contest, he was there. What's strange is that at the end of the cruise he ended up wearing my bra during the quest. Every time I put that bra on, I think, "Yep. A man I hardly knew wore this thing too!" I also think I kinda flashed the audience that night...but I didn't have the wardrobe malfunction that one woman did that night... it was a complete and udder malfunction. It even made the MEN blush! davenew Posted March 7, 2011 #71 Share Posted March 7, 2011 OK, I did not witness this. However, one of my good friends took a cruise during spring break last year, on Carnival, Caribbean. Lots of "coeds," shall we say, mostly drunk. Happened upon one couple out on a deck and the girl was, um, performing some action on the guy. The guy throws his iPhone at my friend and yells "video!" So, she does. And then, she proceeds to email it to everyone on his contact list. When she got home she also emailed the deans of the two schools most apparently on the ship (lots of school spirit wear, etc.) to let them know how horribly those kids represented their schools. How rude............why did this not show up on YouTube then :D
jt1120 Posted March 7, 2011 #72 Share Posted March 7, 2011 (edited) I remember being in St. Croix once, parked right next to a Costa ship. I swear there was nobody on board that ship. Even when they left, it wasn't like everyone was at dinner or something. It was almost empty, except for a few crew members. The ship was not brand new, so I just don't get it. The ship was in port all day and left right before we did, with nobody on board. That was in 1998 and I still remember it to this day. Then there was the time we were leaving the Port of Miami and a boat with a bunch of guys on it was headed into the channel as we were leaving. I was video taping, and, yep, you guessed it, one of the guys dropped trou. Edited March 7, 2011 by jt1120
retiredonthesea Posted March 7, 2011 #73 Share Posted March 7, 2011 Back in the day I always thought it was funny to watch people try to skeet shoot (or shoot skeet)from the stern of the ship--especially thos who had never shot a gun in their life, trying to aim and shoot when the ship is rocking & rolling!! I'am sorta glad it's not done anymore--but it sure was fun while it lasted!!:D
booze brothers Posted March 7, 2011 #74 Share Posted March 7, 2011 Our tablemates said every time they went to the casino, a young woman would stalk them. She was a close talker but would never say anything, only come up really close to their faces and stare at them. She even followed them back to their cabins. Decided I had to see this for myself. Saw the woman doing her thing, so I went up to her and (eyes as wide open as I could) and put my face about 2 inches from hers. She didn't know what to do. After a minute or two, she got scared, LOL, and left! We laughed till we cryed.
Schlepporello Posted March 7, 2011 #75 Share Posted March 7, 2011 After just boarding a Carnival ship observed a family board with buckets (more than 1) of Kentucky Fried Chicken. With all of the food on board I found it strange to see them bringing on more food, but I don't recall ever seeing "fried chicken" on any of my cruises. No big mystery. Everyone knows that the Colonel does chicken right.;)
