VIP check-in

We were escorted last cruise.

What type of cabin did you have? I have never seen anyone escorted, myself either. We always travel in a suite and never was escorted. Unless I believe it's on the Fantasy class ships that have the Owner's Suite. Now I know those folks get escorted.

I wonder if the escorted on the ship happens when there is no line at the VIP.

(after the ship is boarding already)

The family that I seen escorted on was the only family in the VIP lounge..and they were only taken to the area where you get your photo taken--

We were escorted a couple of times. The first or second time was in FLL when the platinum program first started. They made a huge deal out if it and our escort was saying VIP coming through! It was somewhat over the top. Lol

As Platinum, we were escorted numerous times. Freedom, Liberty, Victory, Legend, etc. I felt like a celebrity!

Escorted where?? I have been escorted as well but just to the front of the line, big deal :;. Were you escorted directly to your suite? I don't believe that Carnival does this. Well, maybe only the Owner's Suite.

BEG TO DIFFER! When you check in at VIP in Tampa, you're more often than not, escorted directly to the gate after they do your paper work at the desk. First Class service in Tampa!

"SKY"

I've been escorted to the head of the line where they take your boarding photo, after VIP check-in in both Port Canaveral and Miami.

Same for us. Probably saved another 3 minutes by getting the escort.:o Sometimes they do sometimes not, probably depending on how busy they are.

Yep, we were escorted to the photo area right before you get on the ship for VIP in Tampa last year and wow were we thankful we had VIP boarding because the regular line was long at the time we arrived. We also got priority debarkation which was also nice. (We were in a Grand Suite on the Insirpation)

to the front of the line-- where they take the debarkation photo with the ship pic behind you. -- then you board the ship with the masses

We had a suite when we sailed on Destiny out of San Juan. Love the VIP. We got to the port, porter took our bags, directed us to the VIP lounge which was not only air conditioned but had free beverages and snacks. Sat in comfy chairs for about 10 minutes and were the first to board the boat. We have a Vista Suite for the next trip and looking forward to the VIP treatment again. We were also in gourp #1 to get off the boat but were staying in San Juan another day so we enjoyed the boat for an extra hour.

Escort you? LOL! Sorry, couldn't resist. All you get for VIP is priority embark/debark. And no, nobody will escort you.

My family was escorted to the get on the ship,(up to the picture part ) must be different in all the ports.

This is our 12th (I think) cruise and we are exhulted Platinum VIP Status Guests. One of the nifty perks of being Platinum is one by passes the Huddled Masses as they wait forever in long, never ending, winding lines to board. With noses in air we headed towards Bright Red Signs beckoning (Snobby) VIPs. We were escorted to the head of the Security line and Xray machines. A with nary a Buzz, Siren, or Body Search we convinced the Guards we were indeed just innocent cruisers and we exited security relatively unharmed.
Another Bright Red VIP Sign Beckoned us to an office where we were processed. Within 1 minute our name was called, our passports examined, and most importantly our Credit Card Scanned. We were then issued our Sign and Sail Cards, and told to board and have a great cruise. So once again as the great multitude of our fellow passengers wound their way through the never ending meandering lines, we happily sped past them and headed toward the Photographer and Gang Plank.

I must say the Embarkation Process seemed to go well for everyone as folks moved along at a steady pace through the Boarding Process. We were on board the ship within 15 minutes of our arrival at the Cruise Ship Terminal.
Ok here is one for you. What if two of the three couples travelling with you are VIP, can the third get in the VIP line with us. OR do then need to get in the NON...vip line? ;)
They would need to go to the non-VIP line..unless they are on your Sign and Sail account or in the same cabin as you or the other VIP couple.

I saw a VIP "house" to the left of the main Carnival area in Long Beach last time we were there. It was very nice (mostly made of glass). Is there a lounge they escort you to after you check in there? Also, how early can you get on the ship as VIP? Are the suites available at a particular time (on the Splendor specifically)?

Thanks! Katherine
