sandian Posted March 11, 2011 #1 Share Posted March 11, 2011 Just been on the RCI site and under Gold Anchor news they are advertising packages to make your cruise all inclusive. Prices $29 for all beers Draft and bottle and all wines by the glass $39 to include above plus spirits and cocktails $49 for premium. Sounds good but a few ? how is this working on Celebrity? I have worked out that if you buy 1 package at $29 and 1at $39 for a 14nt cruise you would have to spend over £15 to break even. Easy done if you can get wine by the glass in the dining room. Any thoughts, is this a worthwhile investment? what restrictions are there? At the moment it is only on Independence an two other ships in the Med. Am I missing anything here or does this sound like a good idea?

Ashland Posted March 11, 2011 #5 Share Posted March 11, 2011 Alcohol drink packages...Other than just wine..Don't see it... Also doesn't seems like something RCI would just slip in on the down low without lot's of advertisement...
alcie Posted March 11, 2011 #6 Share Posted March 11, 2011 I'd love to see a link too if you have one. This sounds like it could be a good deal.
kasowell2 Posted March 11, 2011 #7 Share Posted March 11, 2011 Is that per day? Either way, sign me up. I don't see gold anchor news on the site. That would have to be per day. I was on a Celebrity cruise and we loved it. It was great to not have to worry about anything and if we didn't like something we just got another. I'm not sure if we broke even or not but the convenience was great. I wish RCCL would implement if fleetwide.

waxing witch Posted March 11, 2011 #10 Share Posted March 11, 2011 ooooh that would be perfect for dh. he's a beer drinker and would love something like that. i hope this is something they start implementing fleet-wide soon. this will be our first cruise with rccl, but seeing how restrictive they seem to be about brining any drinks on board, we were looking at other lines for our first big family cruise. Looks like this is only on the UK site! Try changing the country to look at the offer if the link doesn't work. ;) http://www.royalcaribbean.co.uk/home.do?cS=MHDR
nitlioner Posted March 11, 2011 #12 Share Posted March 11, 2011 Looks like just non-U.S. departure ports at this time. Hopefully RCI will expand the program.
constable145 Posted March 11, 2011 #13 Share Posted March 11, 2011 Amazing progress! This looks like a trial run. Now we just need to get people to get on board with this so hopefully it will be introduced in North America.

TwitterCruise1 Posted March 11, 2011 #16 Share Posted March 11, 2011 Please bring that to all cruises! That would be awesome! I would like to see this too, but I think even if they did do that, it wouldn't last. Because RCCL isn't as sedated as Celebrity, I think they'd lose $ on this, no? constable145 Posted March 11, 2011 #18 Share Posted March 11, 2011 People should email RCI and voice their interest in seeing such a program here in North America.
Sathington73 Posted March 11, 2011 #19 Share Posted March 11, 2011 That was kinda mean getting my hopes all up for my cruise next month on the Freedom. I agree it would be cool if they did this fleetwide; but I'd be surprised if they did because it seems like too good of a deal (at least for me ;))

stones902 Posted March 11, 2011 #21 Share Posted March 11, 2011 I have been hoping for this since the Celeb rollout last year. It would be a good move for RCI. Here's to hoping for a fleetwide policy....CHEERS ;)

That probably leaves out the Drink of the Day, and after dinner drinks which has cordials. Best option would be for beer drinkers. Personally---I love rum on cruses:cool:

I would be suprised if it wasn't included on RCI's selection as well. Rum is probably the least expensive spirit.
