Floating mall/monster of the seas

To my knowledge Adrenalina has closed. There is, however, an indoor flowrider facility in Kissimmee. A lot of the employees from Adrenalina now work there.

We'e going on Oasis in June and tonight over dinner I called it a floating mall. DS pointed out that he has never seen pools or flow riders at any mall he has ever been to! lol We booked around 14 months ago and I am JUST finally getting excited to go on her! I know it will be awesome and fantabulous!!! I just prefer a smaller ship. I guess thats why there are different classes of ships!

 

Go there with an open mind..........That ship is GRRRRREAT!

The concierge room is FAb, service great.

It is unlike any other RCI ship (cept AOS)

Eat in the pay food venues...they are great too.

We were on Oasis in Feb 11'. WONDERFUL!!!!!!!!!!

Cant wait for a back to back on her in OCtober 11'

This ship was the only one (in 29 RCI cruises) that I was sad to be coming come and wanted to stay.

2 million is conservative. The old city of Toronto is almost 3. The GTA is over 5. The golden horeshoe is over 7 million- 4th biggest metropolis in North America.

when we were on the Oasis...there was a Brazilian tour group with a about 1,500 kids. WOW! .........The ship is layed out so great that the packs of kids, and I mean packs/gangs, had their own places to hang out...........LOL the Wipe Out rest. on the top deck near the flow rider was always a mess..The kids seem to love that area. But other places on the ship were calm and beautiful. It is not a Mall but a fine Hotel on the ocean!!! I never felt crowded or like cattle. I think the nay sayers are those folk who have not been on this ship!

Felt the same way a few years ago while I was on Liberty of the Seas. So, Oasis/Allure is even more of that. While I'm curious about the Oasis/Allure, it will be awhile before/if I sail them given there a lot more ships I want to try first. We'll see how things pan out for 2012 or 2013.

I also agree with some others that sometimes the opinions are in a critical or superior way. I notice on other cruiseline forums here that when a new member to a different line ask for a comparison to Royal….you’ll see answers if you prefer floating malls, rock climbing walls, skating rinks, flowriders then stick with Royal….mind you some of these opinions are coming from those who have never stepped foot on a Voyager class ship.

 

Personally I love the Royal Promenade and just because it is closed with a few stores and a place to eat….it only takes up maybe 1/3 of one deck so to phrase the Voyager class ships as a “floating mall” in my opinion is a little bit ridiculous.

 

As for the "Monster of the Seas" well I can't wait to book myself on that monster!;)

Those comments always make me roll my eyes, considering all that stuff(except rock wall) isn't even on the majority of RCI ships.

While we enjoyed Oasis we just felt she was too big for us. Our favorite size is still the Adventure of The Seas. Not too big, not too small, but just right.

 

We so not anticipate sailing on Oasis or Allure in the future due to their being too big and we find the pricing to be in the "gouge 'em till they bleed" range, plus the itineraries suck.

 

Other than that, they are great..... :)

That's why they offer different classes of ships and different itineraries. If Oasis and Allure were perfect for everyone, that is all they would build. While Radiance class is our favorite for any number of reasons, we were awed by all that Oasis and Allure had to offer and did not find them too big or too crowded.:)

Like you I have always preferred smaller ships, Radiance Class being my favourite of the RCI ships. I was persuaded to go on the Indie and really liked it. Still had mega reservations about Oasis though. DH was very keen so to keep the peace I went along with the idea. I LOVED Oasis. It is true though that I did not feel I was at sea like the smaller ships. That was possibly because we had a Central Park balcony and I really missed the sound of the ocean and looking out at the waves. It was still a great cruise though.

Lots of NCL(Carnival also) bashing on the RCCL board but the people I know who have sailed the line all had a great time

If you are posting on a forum that favors a specific cruise line you can expect to hear bashing of the competitions ships.

 

For proof go to the Carnival and NCL forums and ask for comparisons to the RCCL ships and let the bashing begin.

 

The truth is that most of us have never taking a cruise that we didn't like. There have been some horror stories about isolated cruises but overall there are no bad cruises. Everyone has their own priorities of what makes their cruise special. It could be cabin size, food choices, entertaiment (both big and small venues), youth activities, audult activities, port of calls, port of debarkation, all areas of service, casino or even ship size. Somewhere after evaluating all these things a $ value is assigned and accepted or rejected by us. Isn't it great that we have all these different cruise lines and ships available to choose from?

I am curious, what ships out there do you like the looks of? That would help me understand what you find appealing compared to myself. As for the crowds and Vagas, Oasis has neither. Based on whatever you have read and seen, your perceptions just don't match reality. I agree, sometimes bigger is not better. In the case of Oasis, my opinion is that it is better. However, even if you were to experience the ship for yourself you might well feel differently than I do.

Thanks. I substituted a custom background picture I created for the generic one supplied with the countdown clock. After you upload your custom picture somewhere (hosting, facebook, flicker, etc.), you just need to edit the countdown clock HTML to point to it instead of the generic picture.
