Sometimes more than that...unfortunately, they've been doing it for years. I am so glad some attention had been called to this problem. If you are in the vacinity of the airport at Orlando, and don't see the price listed on the sign....keep driving! In some cases you only need to drive a block away to find "proper" gas prices.

It surprised me that there was no municipal authority on price gouging. Is it at the state level? Inform us, please, anyone! Thanks

Gouging is changing more when there is a natural event that limits supply. Think Katrina or similar. This is charging what the market will bare. It is not illegal.

This has been discussed here:

Evidently it is only considered gouging during time of an emergency like a hurricane.

I think its only the 1st one on 436 (Semoran Blvd) Just outside the airport.

Let the buyer beware!

I believe that there are two gas stations who refuse to post their prices. One is a Suncoast Energys http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=Orlando+International+Airport,+1+Airport+Blvd,+Orlando,+FL+32827&aq=0&sll=37.0625,-95.677068&sspn=32.252269,79.013672&ie=UTF8&hq=Orlando+International+Airport,+1+Airport+Blvd,+Orlando,+FL+32827&hnear=Orlando+International+Airport+(MCO),+1+Airport+Blvd,+Orlando,+Orange,+Florida+32827&ll=28.465433,-81.309976&spn=0.001033,0.002411&z=19&layer=c&cbll=28.465433,-81.309976&panoid=buhAupPXPPJsE5S4Y5h2tw&cbp=12,79.62,,1,-1.71 and the other, equally nondescript, is directly across the road from them. If you are on SR 436 just a mile or so north of the airport, continue going north just a little more until you get to Hoffner and you will see a Mobil station with normal prices.

Suncoast charges whatever they feel they can get away with. I bet their business drops when they have to post the price. Just pass them by...

The city does not have the authority to regulate gas prices, so Orlando recently passed an ordinance requiring gas stations to post prices on signs that are clearly visible from the street.

The stations now have until May 12 to comply with the rule, or face fines of $250 a day, according to Cassandra Lafser, a spokeswoman for Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer.

Looks like help is on the way!
