divaofdisney Posted April 30, 2011 #1 Share Posted April 30, 2011 In lieu of having to take a tour through the ship, what would be the cheapest way to get into the city of Rome. I hear its best to avoid taking taxi's....would a shuttle/van be the best way to go. THis is our first trip to Europe so any help would be appreciated and thanks alot in advance. CruiserBruce Posted April 30, 2011 #3 Share Posted April 30, 2011 If you read down this board, you will see much discussion on how to get to Rome. And, yes, train is the cheapest.

Rare cruisemom42 Posted April 30, 2011 #5 Share Posted April 30, 2011 There are dozens of threads on how to get the train from Civitavecchia into Rome. Do an advanced search using "Rome train" and search for post titles only. You'll find plenty. Here's one good one to get you started: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=1237189
