silkismom Posted April 30, 2011 #1 Share Posted April 30, 2011 I tried to send this earlier, but didn't go through. I'm trying to book the National Express Coach from LHR to Southampton on line, I filled in all the correct boxes, double checking everything, got a SecureCode etc and it still says it can't except my card and other such nonsense!!! Help before I start throwing things.
John Bull Posted April 30, 2011 #2 Share Posted April 30, 2011 Since you got as far as being asked for card details I don't think you made any errors in the actual booking. I think the problem may well be your card company declining a purchase outside the US? On the grounds that it may be a fraudulent transaction. I've heard of the problem before. No matter that fraudsters would want way better than the price of a bus ticket. I think you need to phone your card company Also worth everyone advising their card companies of impending travel, to avoid just such a problem. sddsddean Posted April 30, 2011 #3 Share Posted April 30, 2011 JB has hit the nail on the head. Phone your CC company and tell them you are trying to make a UK purchase and they'll unblock your account. Its happened with many US friends. Traveling Library Posted April 30, 2011 #4 Share Posted April 30, 2011 This happened to me too. Call your Credit Card company. They will release the fraud alert on your card and you can book your tickets.
MRSBITS Posted April 30, 2011 #5 Share Posted April 30, 2011 We were able to complete this transaction on line with our Capital One CC.

Globaliser Posted April 30, 2011 #7 Share Posted April 30, 2011 It's so frustrating when things don't work right.Don't worry: After a while, getting a block lifted off a card because you've used it overseas becomes almost second nature. I know the phone number for my primary credit card company by heart because I have to call it so often. And my number two credit card company answers with a recorded message saying it will accept the charges for the collect call.
