Thanks for the report, David. I see the Volendam begins her inside passage season on Wednesday. She goes Inside Passage, Tracy Arm (if she can get in) Juneau, Skagway, Glacier Bay, Ketchikan and back to Vancouver via the Inside Passage. It is a fine trip.

 

Does anyone who reads this posting hail from Steubinville Ohio? If so what is the report on bishop Daniel Conlon? Please advise!

It looks to be another cold cloudy possible rainy day in Sitka for the Westerdam, and the weather forecast for next Wednesday is exactly the same. But I will be enjoying it from the nice warm heated ceramic loungers in the Green House Spa and enjoying the scenery ;)

I would recommend going to the Raptur Center while in Sitka. It is well worth seeing. I am planning on going there the next time I am in Sitka.

Hope the Rotterddam has a smooth crossing as we board her in about 4 weeks. Glad to see her get to the right side of the pond.

Himself, actually we went to the Raptur Center when we were on the Westerdam in June 2009 :) I really enjoyed it. I have actually heard there is a new Bear Habitat that I might check into, otherwise I do hear that Green House Spa calling my name already ;) I just wish they would serve Wine or Champagne in there :D

Also if I did not know better I would swear we were n Sitka alrady, it is cloudy sprinkling, windy and 60 degrees here in Las Vegas right now. Not a whole lot of change in weather for me. But when we return on the 28th the temps are to be a high of 101 :eek:

The Volendam was late leaving Vancouver for her first Alaska cruise, this Alaska season.

She vanished from the webcam view just after 6pm Vancouver time.

Your right looking at the weather in CR in looks like it was not drastically different. But I will say I would not mind it staying cooler here. I am not looking forward to turning on the A/C especially since it is to be 101 for a high the day we return from the Westerdam :eek: That will be a shock to the system.
