Transfer from London to Southampton?

We are planning our first cruise--a last minute one!-- to the British Isles on the Crown Princess.

 

We will arrive in London a couple days ahead of time and don't plan to use the Princess transfer from Heathrow. What is the best way to get from London to the dock in Southampton?
