dress code for children MDR on infinity in Alaska

I did not put this on the family board at first... I am hoping the dress code is a little more relaxed for 2 9yr old boys than for adults... for formal nite I was planning shirt, khakis and a tie... i actually thought they could wear dress shorts and collared shirts the rest of the time in the MDR. From the main celebrity board I was told that their children enjoy dressing up in tuxedos and suits.. I must have different grandchildren because this is not something they are looking forward to.... ?

You should have no problems. IMHO even on formal nights you could/will find adults dressed like "boys" or younger :D

 

The clothing police like to post all sorts of FUD, but I believe Princess is simlar to Celebrity and I found many kids in Khakis and collared shirt even on the "formal" nights, put them in a tie and you will be more than good. On non formal jeans and a nice shirt is more than good enough regardless of the clothing police ;)

I don't believe the boys can wear dress shorts, they should be in long pants.

Shorts are not appropriate in the dining room for either adults or children.

 

it is true that many (I didn't say all) children do enjoy getting dressed up on a cruise. They may not want to do this at home but for the child dressing up is their opportunity to be like an adult.

 

We have wonderful pictures of our family when the kids were young all dressed up and that includes several cruises with them on Celebrity.

I would agree that the boys will be fine with ties. Also agree that they will probably need long pants every night. I have see younger teens sent back from MDR for long pants. Better safe than sorry. My DS often changed after dinner into play clothes for the rest of the evening.
