Rough seas in august

Recommended Posts

Just because a hurricane COULD form, doesn't necessarily mean it will be rough seas! If there's no storm in the vicinity, you will most likely have smooth seas! Time of year has nothing at all to do with how the seas behave. It's frontal systems, winds, etc...that affect the seas.

Your ship will NEVER, EVER sail into a storm of any magnitude.

So far I've only taken cruises in August, and on each, we had one day of not calm seas. Nothing to severe, but you definitely notice it and it never last very long. (each were a result of a passing thunderstorm).

We have found the seas in August to be no worse than any other time of the year. You may have totally calm seas or you may have some periods where there are swells that cause the ship to rock more. You just never know, but it's not because of it being August or Hurricane season.
