The only ship that I know of that does not allow smoking in the Cigar Lounge is the Jewel. That is because they did not install a door when the ship was built.
Jade has the same problem

It's gotta be the smoking situation. My money is just as green as the guy on the balcony next to me (we both have rights). We were lucky on our 13 day criuse that the people next to us rarely smoked on their balcony. But had I paid more and was smoked out it would have RUINED my cruise (allergies, not just dislike of smoke). I avoided the casino completely- a shame.
I am one of those who would purchase more photos if more reasonable. Why not enter into the digital world and install image viewers instead of racks and have a pin # to log onto to view your photos. Download the ones you want onto a disk and print them or not your choice.
What you described is nearly identical to what they have on the Epic... When you board the ship on day 1 they take your photo on the gangway like any normal cruiseline does except they ask for your room key --hmm??? After that the ship's photographers just snap away around the ship and they must have a facial recognition software that sorts them into an "album". There are kiosks in the photo area where you insert your key card to see the photos.

They do still print the photos out as well but they at least sort them into a binder with your room # on it so you can walk up and just grab that instead of using the key card.

They're probably trying it out on the Epic to see if it is cost effective before looking at installing these on the rest of their fleet.

They did still have the racks of photos on display but they were for photos that the system couldn't associate the face to so it seemed like it needed some more tweaking. Hopefully they can go 100% paperless to reduce costs and expand the service to the other ships.

Yes but if they go paperless it won't matter about the reduced cost to them as much as the make profit. If photos can sell just as well from a kiosk as if you are already holding it in your hand and don't have to wait except to sign your on board expense card. My advice, whoever is on the Epic buy lots of photos to at least make NCL think this is more profitable :D

Great idea for a thread. I'm not even going to try to limit myself to one thing. :D A lot of these have already been mentioned --

If non-smoking ships aren't practical, provide better ventilation in casinos and other public areas, and ban smoking on balconies (I can avoid other smoky areas if I have to, but I spend a lot of time on my balcony).

Wifi in all cabins with more reasonably priced internet plans.

Some longer cruises, and more one-ways that could be combined for B2B (would be nice to have some different ports in each direction). One-ways to Hawaii or Alaska and back would be nice.

I'd love to see frequent Transatlantic or even Transpacific cruises including a few stops (not just repositioning cruises). I dislike flying, so I'd love to be able to cruise from Boston or New York to England, maybe by way of Canada and Iceland, and either return to the US immediately, or get off and have some land or cruise time in Europe, and then cruise back to the US.

For some period of time after each cruise, I'd like to be able to sign on to the website and view all my prictures so I could order digital and/or print copies. This could also include a variety of pictures of the cruise and ports without us in them; sometimes I'm disappointed with the quality of the pictures we take.

Improve the Room Service menu. (All of the food could do with a little improvement).

Add a venue like the Park Cafe on Oasis of the Seas.

Flat screen TVs with more channels.

Bring back Coke; I hate Pepsi!

Add a cruise port in Kansas or Missouri. :D

Maybe I've just been lucky, but I have never been bothered by smoke on my balcony. If they were to change the smoking policy, I'd much rather have them allow smoking on the balcony and not in the cabin. Once in awhile, I might catch a whiff of smoke on my balcony, but with the constant breeze while sailing, it's gone in seconds.

Assuming that it takes 2 minutes to smoke a cigarette and the smoker has 3-4 in an hour, that's at the most 8 minutes out of 60 that you might be bothered by smoke. And as I said, with the constant breeze, I've really never gotten more than a whiff.

I can deal with that easier than the people on our last cruise who constantly had 15 family members stuffed onto their balcony for most of the day and felt the need to scream every conversation and hang over the rail looking over into my balcony. That truly made my balcony unusable, but there was really nothing I could do about it.

Anyway, just my opinion. I have several friends who smoke and the places where they can are getting fewer and fewer. I understand their frustration and hope that NCL leaves their smoking policy in place. I personally have no problem with it. Although the casino does get smokey, perhaps that could institute one non-smoking night per cruise.

I would ban the 18-20yr old drinking policy, if authorized by an adult. We just got off the Spirit last week, and there were too many kids who could not handle their alcohol that were just acting totally ridiculous. There were actually fights and crying going on in our hallway.

If you're under 21, you should not be allowed to drink onboard regardless!

Also, I would enforce the rules a little bit more. There were always tons of kids in the "adult only" pool and people smoking cigars around food/pool areas where it was previously noted that it was not allowed in these areas. I understand the crew does not want to upset anyone, but it is unfair to those of us unable to enjoy certain areas of the ship because rules are not enforced.

I would renew the South America 'round the horn cruise, with at least one hotel night first, to recover from the very long flight, and air added, to make it affordable. The competition during the winter months is Celebrity, who do offer the above, Surely NCL can beat Celebrity's pricing!
Have a non smoking section of the casino.

So, don't cut through the casino. Simple!
I would update the website so that all accomodations were accurately pictured and/or make sure that all NCL agents could describe the staterooms/suites. Nothing is as frustrating as trying to book a category and have no one at NCL able to tell you how the space is configured. They couldn't tell me if the suite I wanted to book had a seperate bedroom or not!! My TA finally told me to believe the information I was getting from Cruise Critic, not from NCL!!!
It is very seldom I criticize NCL, but WEB site accuracy concerning cabin set up is an area I would rate as poor. I suggested they identify which of the SA Deluxe Owners suites were with a childrens bedroom, I was told it was to hard and unnecessary. They have, what seems to be a hundred photographers on every ship. We should be able to click on a a room and see real pictures of it. And if I can fit an entire library on my nook, storage space for these pictures should not be a problem.

As to the OP's question, a full no smoking area in the casino.
