What do you use to secure your valuables while swimming on excursions.

Hi , by beach safe do you mean a water proof container that is on a string around you neck. If so then you can get them at most any department store (Target , walmart , Walgreens, etc.) Also alot of ships have them on board in the stores, But CC right here on this board has one it sells as well. So you have choices.

If you're just "taking a dip", you'll be able to keep an eye on your things....iand don't bring too many "valuables"...a bit of cash (which can get wet!), and your DL, room key (linked by your photo, so no one else can board the ship in your stead!) and perhaps a credit card...again, plastic, so water won't hurt it....

We just keep an eye on our things....not hard to do...and we don't bring lots of stuff for beach days....

We usually just keep an eye on our things, or put them in a small ziplock bag with my husband puts inside the cargo pocket on his swim trunks. But on our last cruise, we wanted to spend a lot of time in the water, and had to constantly check back on our belongings - it really put a damper on our enjoyment of the beaches. So, we were looking into a beach safe, or anything else other CCer's might recommend.

whatever you buy...TEST it first even if it safes waterproof...hubby went cave-tubin last December and his waterproof wallet pouch leaked.

as others have mentioned on other threads regarding this-put in a zip-lock and then put in your 'waterproof' container.

we are going to check out our local DIVE shop and see what they recommend--last one we bought was at a outdoor/camping store and that didnt seem to work.

Get an aquapac. You can get them at EMS, REI, Dicks or even your local boy scout store. They are available online too. We have one that will fit a cell phone or a small camera and our passports if needed. Ours is about 8 inches by 4 inches. Has a string to wear around your neck or a carabiner to hook to something. My DH usually hooks the carabiner to the mesh of his swim trunks and wears it under his suit down his thigh. It has done well snorkeling, climbing Dunns River falls, kayaking and just floating around. It was less than $20 when we got it 5 years ago.

http://www.ebags.com/product/aquapac/small-whanganui-case/109094?productid=10141794 ours is similar to this, price has gone up since we got ours
