canadianbear Posted July 23, 2011 #1 Share Posted July 23, 2011 Just wondering-if we got an email saying our express docs were ready to be printed, does that mean we won't get an upgrade or an upsell still? We aren't cruising until September so just wondering....thanks!
gregdude Posted July 23, 2011 #2 Share Posted July 23, 2011 No, it just means your docs are ready. If you indicated you would be interested in an upgrade at the time you booked then that may happen right up to the day you depart.
RuthC Posted July 23, 2011 #3 Share Posted July 23, 2011 The two things aren't connected. Express docs are ready about 50 days before sailing; cabin assignments aren't made until about two weeks before (or closer). If you have a guarantee, you should notice that there's no cabin assignment yet, even though you can complete check-in. If you have a specific cabin, there is still an opportunity to be changed---either by upgrade or upsell.
Krazy Kruizers Posted July 23, 2011 #4 Share Posted July 23, 2011 One time we got an upsell offer 2 weeks before the cruise -- had long since run off our e-docs. Anything can happen.
judynorth Posted July 23, 2011 #5 Share Posted July 23, 2011 We got an upgrade the day before our last cruise but then our TA had been working on getting the upgrade for a couple of weeks.
canadianbear Posted July 23, 2011 Author #6 Share Posted July 23, 2011 Thanks everyone. We picked a cabin but indicated we would be available for upgrade or upsell. (We booked in an SS on the Eurodam so doubtful but you never know)! Thanks for the clarification.
jtl513 Posted July 23, 2011 #7 Share Posted July 23, 2011 Thanks everyone. We picked a cabin but indicated we would be available for upgrade or upsell.Since you picked a specific cabin you are far more likely to get an upsell offer than a free upgrade, which mainly go to those who do guarantees. Shmoo here Posted July 23, 2011 #8 Share Posted July 23, 2011 Since you picked a specific cabin you are far more likely to get an upsell offer than a free upgrade, which mainly go to those who do guarantees. Don't know about that. We booked a specific cabin, were never contacted for an upsell, and the day before our cruise were upgraded from a G (partially obstructed oceanview) to a VB. :)

iflyrc5 Posted July 24, 2011 #10 Share Posted July 24, 2011 I couple of years ago on the Maasdam we found out about our upgrade when we checked in at the pier:D so it can happen any time.
