express docs ready-does that mean no upgade?

Just wondering-if we got an email saying our express docs were ready to be printed, does that mean we won't get an upgrade or an upsell still? We aren't cruising until September so just wondering....thanks!

The two things aren't connected. Express docs are ready about 50 days before sailing; cabin assignments aren't made until about two weeks before (or closer).

If you have a guarantee, you should notice that there's no cabin assignment yet, even though you can complete check-in. If you have a specific cabin, there is still an opportunity to be changed---either by upgrade or upsell.

Thanks everyone. We picked a cabin but indicated we would be available for upgrade or upsell. (We booked in an SS on the Eurodam so doubtful but you never know)!

Thanks for the clarification.

Since you picked a specific cabin you are far more likely to get an upsell offer than a free upgrade, which mainly go to those who do guarantees.

Don't know about that. We booked a specific cabin, were never contacted for an upsell, and the day before our cruise were upgraded from a G (partially obstructed oceanview) to a VB.

Yes, it definitely happens ... but I said "you are far more likely to get an upsell offer than a free upgrade, which mainly go to those who do guarantees."
