private airport water taxi venice

No need to make special arrangments for a water taxi at Marco Polo airport. You just walk to the airport pier (it is a bit of a hike) and there will almost always be some water taxis looking for a fare. Since the cost is outrageous (at least 100 Euros) they are not usually overwhelmed with business. The taxis are not usually interested in negotiations about their rates although you can certainly try to talk them down a few Euros (and they may smile and tell you to get lost). We will admit that although we have been in Venice many times (on both cruises and just land trips) we only used a water taxi one time...and that was when it was included as part of a package on our first visit (about 30 years ago). We have since learned, like many frequent visitors, that we prefer to use other less costly transportation modes.

In the airport arrivals hall, there is a desk where you pay and get a voucher. You then need to walk to the pier. Your voucher has a number of the water taxi. We paid 100 euros and that is fixed price. IMHO, only way to arrive in Venice and well worth the cost.
