Oasis of the Seas 9/17-9/24 Review

I am loving your review! We sailed on Oasis this past February, and are going with the whole family in March 2012. Can't wait! Keep the pics coming!

 

Did you happen to meet the cruise director, Richard Spacey? He is absolutely hilarious!

 

 

Oh my god he was hysterical. I never understood how people made such a big deal about a cruise director until now. I would love to sail on another cruise with him.

Do you know anything about the Dreamworks Character Breakfast? I'm trying to find out which day is the chocolate breakfast. I only want to go if it is the chocolate breakfast, I'm not really interested in the characters. Any info would be helpful. Thanks. Looking forward to more of your review.

...Oasis of Dreams...It was wonderful, It was amazing...just don't ask me what it was about because I don't think one person on that ship got the plot.

 

This was one of my favourite shows from our 9/10 sailing. I was so caught up in all the diving and athleticism of the show that I really didn't pay much attention to the story. Afterwards we went to the Globe & Atlas bar and were chatting with one of the bartenders, who was friends with some of the performers in the show. He asked if we knew was it was about and we admitted we had no clue, lol. He said it's supposed to be that the lead female performer is having a dream and the audience is watching the dream unfold. I can buy that...glad we weren't the only ones who didn't know what the heck the story line was! :p

The canoli was very crisp it was breaking as i was trying to eat it. And there is no Ben and Jerrys but people said the Ice Cream place on the boardwalk was very good

Review is AWESOME!!! Love all of the pictures! I have sailed with Princess before but never RC and I am so excited!

 

We are on the Oasis Jan 14 sailing, and it is a COMPLETE anniversary surprise for my DH. I hope I can continue to keep the secret :-)

I think it was a canon 1200. I managed to drop it right at the beginning of the trip so it wasn't working right the whole trip. I will be replacing it shortly

LOl well the disney trip is just a friday to sunday night thing, plus i managed to wait until he forgot I was going away in Sept to ask for Oct off. :D

We actually went to the character breakfast on the second sea day. I know they had the chocolate breakfast the day we were there but I am pretty sure it is a set menu so you would have it every character breakfast

We didn't have a problem with it but neither of us have any issues with sea sickness. I think we felt a little more of the ship movement up front then we would have in the middle but for us it was fine.

So where was I

After dinner we went to the captains reception in the promenade. Here is a pic of the captain with some of his officers.

 

Then off to take as many pictures as we could. Here are a few of the different backdrops you can get for shots.

We had reservations to see hairspray at 10:30 but first we had a job to do. We had decided to decorate his grandfathers room for his birthday and we may had gone a bit over board

 

 

Oh and just so everyone down in central park knew it was his birthday

 

 

So after that we went and got seats for hairspray. OK let me admit this first I did doze off during the show for a few minutes here and there. It had nothing to do with the show I was just exhausted. The show was great and the singers and dancers were wonderful. This is another show I highly recommend you go and see.

 

 

So after the show we headed back to the cabin to see our first towel animal

Labadee

 

We got up this morning and went to the windjammer for breakfast. Nothing special there same as yesterday. We had decided to ride the dragon tail coaster, zip lining looked interesting but seemed a little to pricey for us.

So we headed off the ship

And decided to head straight to the coaster. For anyone who has not been to labadee and/or has not read the fine print you only need to purchase one ticket for the ride if you are riding together.

The ride was fun. Here is us after our second trip on the coaster.

Let me explain why we ended up taking two trips (it was another $5 for the second trip). I figured that with a ponytail in and my hat tight it would stay on my head. I was planning on video taping the coaster ride to show my family back at home and everything was going great until we picked up speed and I felt my hat start to fly off my head. At this point I started cursing cause I love that hat and the video camera is going every which way as my boyfriend managed to grab the hat. So I figured that was not the video to show my family so we went on it again and got a good video. So heads up don’t wear a hat if you go on the coaster.

 

So after our rides we decided to wander a bit before beach volleyball started

 

We headed up the area where the zip line ended. It did look like fun but we were ziplining in Jamaica…maybe next time

Then we headed up the the rocks. It is very cool to hear the dragons breath sound coming from the rocks. You also get a really cool view of the ships

After this we decided to head down and start making our way to the volleyball courts. On my way I decided to stop and get myself a labadoozie

 

 

FYI I went back later to get Cody a soda with his soda card and they offered to fill up the souvenir bottle instead of using the glass, I didn’t since it still had rum in it and he was playing volleyball (figured he wouldn’t really appreciate that) but they may be willing to do that all the time.

 

 

 

So while they were playing volleyball I decided to photographer.

Yay GO team! And then they continued playing volleyball. I can only watch for so long before becoming incredibly bored so I decided to go look at the vendors. Big Mistake!
