S-Class Upper berth - is it intrusive?

Re: Equinox cabin selection

Two of us (adults) are considering a cabin in a good location, but we saw that it sleeps two on the sofa and has an "upper berth". We have no need for this berth and wonder if it gets in the way at all, or will we not notice it?

We really just want a standard balcony cabin with a king bed and would not want a cabin that decreased our sense of spaciousness (what little there is). But the standard cabins that remain available are in less desirable locations for us.

So, what are your opinions about the upper berth?

Thanks.

We had the same concern last year after experiencing an upper bunk on Century that was about 10 inches down from the ceiling and really impacted on the space in the cabin. On Eclipse, (S class) the bunk was flush with the ceiling, so you could only see the outline of it. If you didn't know it was there you would not even notice it.

Good information to have, we are looking at a last minute cruise deal and saw the only available cabins had a bunk. Also did not want to give up the space or hit my head on it, but it sounds like that is not a problem on the S class.
