RedbirdFL Posted October 8, 2011 #1 Share Posted October 8, 2011 We have a cruise booked for May on the Legend to celebrate DD's college graduation. For the first time, we're getting a balcony, and are really excited! :) There will be 3 of us in the room - me, DH and DD. I know that there are only 2 chairs on a balcony and that the balcony is fairly small. But can a third chair be put on the balcony? Can we move the stool from our dressing table, if there is one, out to the balcony? If not, is the little table that's out there sturdy enough for one of us to sit on it for a short time? gazingm42 Posted October 8, 2011 #2 Share Posted October 8, 2011 There is also a small table out there. So another chair would be tight.
BeccaBecca1713 Posted October 8, 2011 #3 Share Posted October 8, 2011 You could move the little table inside and take the vanity chair out, but the vanity chair has no back, just kind of a stool.

To increase space on your balcony .. take the 2 chairs and turn them sideways against the divider. You will then have room for a 3rd chair (or vanity stool)next to the door. Yes the table is sturdy enough to sit on.

Hubby uses the table for his breakfast and i use the stool for mine. :D
elcuchio24 Posted October 8, 2011 #6 Share Posted October 8, 2011 It would probably be too tight to put another chair on and still have the door open, assuming you have a standard balcony.
cb at sea Posted October 8, 2011 #7 Share Posted October 8, 2011 Yes, if all of you want to sit on the balcony at one time, you may take a chair from in the room....not a problem.
JdoggCruiser Posted October 8, 2011 #8 Share Posted October 8, 2011 How about an extended balcony? While you might only get a deeper space, it might make a difference.

I was in a standard balcony on the Legend with 3 adults. We asked steward for another chair and she brought us one. It was a little tight but had no problems with 3 chairs and the table. We could still open the door, just not all the way.
RedbirdFL Posted October 8, 2011 Author #10 Share Posted October 8, 2011 Thanks! I didn't know if they would have extra chairs that the steward could/would bring or not. I'll add this to my cruise notes.
rocking-m-cruiser Posted October 9, 2011 #11 Share Posted October 9, 2011 Just asked them to bring extra. Sometimes they will. How many chairs will fit in the large balcony? Not the ext balcony but the aft sides.

matj2000 Posted October 9, 2011 #13 Share Posted October 9, 2011 Unless its an "extended balcony" it is pretty small, even for 2 chairs. You should probably just take turns sitting out there...
beachbum53 Posted October 11, 2011 #14 Share Posted October 11, 2011 Just ask your steward to put a sofa on the balcony. They have extra ones stored away for situations like yours.

I think I'll ask for a sleeper sofa so we can sleep under the stars! ;) :D
