Our granddaughter never has a problem finding something to do. In July, she stopped by the "whatever the club is called" on the first night and was surprised at the number of young people her age. She met a young man who fast became her friend for the entire cruise.

At 18, your granddaughter can participate in every on-board activity, including shows, except the adults only comedy show, drinking and the casino

Hope you have a wonderful time. It is so good to share this with your grandchildren.

Ummm...she can go to the adult comedy shows and the casino.

She can do anything any other adult on board does except drink alcohol.

I was going to say the same thing~ we took four teenagers, two of them were 18, on the Spirit and they had a blast doing all of the "adult" stuff :)

Cruised on the Splendor at the end of August and one girl that was in the group had already turned 18. She got in by her and her Dad talking with the fellow in charge of that program. The program director has some latitude in allowing people in on either side of the age restrictions. Be friendly to them and present a strong case and chances are your granddaughter will be allowed in Club O2.

That was a great group in Club 02!! Just got back yesterday from Knotts Scary Farm where 10 of the kids from the Club met for a "mini reunion". We had the best time!!

Even the kids can make great cruise friendships that last post cruise!!

I'm taking my just turned 18 granddaughter on a cruise. She's too old for the teen program -- what is there for her to do?

There is tons for them to do. This past March my nephew cruised with us and was newly 18 by about a month. Prior to this cruise he had been on two cruises with us and was 16 and 17 for each cruise. On each of the prior cruises he loved the Club O2 and their teen focused activities. It was worried on what he'd do on the cruise when he was 18, which was his 18th birthday celebration cruise. Well he had the time of his life and had plenty of people to have fun with in the 18-21 age range. He's cruising with us again in a month and can't wait to step back on Carnival Legend and all his new adventures for a week.

I am bringing 3 who have just turned 18 but are in high school still. My fingers are crossed that they will be allowed in the O2 club. I will be sure they all have their student IDs with them, and I will be on my knees if need be. Yes there is a lot of adult stuff to do on board, but a lot of it is not all that great for very young adults.

Our twins were bored with the 02 club when they were 17 so when they were 18, they just did what all the adults do, minus alcohol. There are board games in the library if all else fails, but we've never resorted to that.

We did give my son $20 for the casino. He lost $4 and ran for the hills because he is such a penny pincher. We thought it was hysterical. Naturally, his twin sister spent the whole $20 in a slot machine, which is why we only gave them $20 bucks each.

The enjoyed watching movies on the big screen at night and the piano bar. There were many people close to their age on board after they turned 18 and they found plenty to do just reading the "fun times" each day.

they should allow the kids with the student IDs. If anything only go to the first meet and greet so they can meet the kids they are sailing with so they have other kids to hang with during the week.

ok 18 is a adult. They can do everything but drink why would they need to find something to do or be in a kids group. I mean it is like saying to a alcoholic. what is there to do onboard? They find stuff and the cruise is not all about the drinking. 18 is a adult even if still in highschool. Maybe they want to hang with the adults instead of the kids.

From what we were advised is if they are still in high school they generally will allow them to join Club O2 at the age of 18. Bring their school ID along to prove. It's at the discretion of the Club O2 director. Unfortunate for us in March we didn't have any school ID with us as he is home schooled.
