NelleS Posted November 10, 2011 #1 Share Posted November 10, 2011 What is the MCD? Is in both the MDR and Canaletto (sp?)? Does it help you decide WHERE you'll be eating that night? TIA, Ellen
sail7seas Posted November 10, 2011 #2 Share Posted November 10, 2011 Master Chef Dinner has been held only in Main Dining Room usually last night of the cruise. There is some noisy singing and dancing by stewards and entertainment staff but it has been said here recently, it is going to be discontinued. Many of us have never particularly enjoyed it and if they decide to eliminate it, some consider that a good thing. Of course, that is not unanimous. Some here have really enjoyed it. SabreSailor Posted November 10, 2011 #3 Share Posted November 10, 2011 It didn't happen (thank goodness) on our October 15 sailing of the Nieuw Amsterdam. Instead, they had the Baked Alaska parade on the second to last night out (formal night)....

Maybe only a temporary return?

NelleS Posted November 10, 2011 Author #6 Share Posted November 10, 2011 Thanks for your replies. I thought it was some special dinner that folks don't want to miss. But I'm like you in not enjoying the "show" that happens in the MDR at the end of the cruise. Always seemed like the "fun" was forced. So, if that's what the MCD is, DH & I may eat somewhere else. Thanks again!
