theneals4 Posted November 15, 2011 #1 Share Posted November 15, 2011 I was wondering if anybody could tell if there is a good travel insurance out there besides what Carnival has? And if you already purchased the travel insurance through them, can you remove it ?? Thanks !

cajuinbell Posted November 15, 2011 #3 Share Posted November 15, 2011 We used travel Guard. They were cheap for a young couple. I think i paid $150 for my husband and I.
pe4all Posted November 15, 2011 #4 Share Posted November 15, 2011 We also use Travelguard (Gold Assist plan) Had to collect on it once - no major hassles. Cost us $306- for 4 (what they considered) adults.
Soonerbaby Posted November 15, 2011 #5 Share Posted November 15, 2011 Are you USAA members? If so, you can get insurance thru them. Really inexpensive.
Andie272 Posted November 15, 2011 #6 Share Posted November 15, 2011 I looked at the insure my trip site, there are so many different policies, what do I actually need? What are the differences between them all.
Rare sparks1093 Posted November 15, 2011 #7 Share Posted November 15, 2011 TravelGuard Gold through insuremytrip.com, $113. I believe that before final payment you may remove the cruiseline's insurance (but you may be foregoing pre-existing condition coverage by doing so). oldcowhand Posted November 15, 2011 #8 Share Posted November 15, 2011 We always use carnival's insurance......we have had 2 claims over the yrs & they have always paid with no hassles. I find it cost no more then other companies.
BigDfromTN Posted November 15, 2011 #9 Share Posted November 15, 2011 I too use Insuremytrip.com, and buy the CSA Luxe plan. Reason for this is it gives you pre-existing condition cover as long as you purchase by final payment date. (Not booking date) OP, Look for a good limit on Medical and medical evacuation. CCL's cover is a bit lower than most on this. CCL's policy does have some good points in the cancel for any reason clause that you get a percentage back as credit for a future cruise if you cancel for an otherwise NON covered item. (unsure of weather, changed mind.. etc etc.)
DancerOT Posted November 15, 2011 #10 Share Posted November 15, 2011 We called the phone number associated with the number and spoke to someone to guide us. Good thing we did as not all of the plans would have worked AND we had to book our own separately as we live in two different states. That never even entered my brain.
