Norweigan Sun in St. Thomas noon - 8pm, recommendations?

We are going to be there from noon to 8pm. Was thinking of booking a private tour operator's tour, but most seem to leave earlier in the day. Anyone have recommendations for what to do from noon to 5pm-ish, where to get dinner, and then what to do until time to get back on the ship?

Should we just do a half day in St. Thomas and then go back to the ship for dinner around 7pm?

These are some weird hours, and I'm not sure how to plan the day...

What time of year?

If it is winter it is going to get dark no later than 5:30 which may limit what you can do. In the summer it will be light until about 7:30. I would try to arrange a private tour then go back to the ship and shop around Havensight until the shops close, and then eat.

Be back on the ship by dinner time. St Thomas is not the place you want to wander around after shops close at about 5-6 P.M. The downtown area is deserted and not particularly safe after dark. The taxi starter at the port can get you a taxi for an Island tour, just ask.
