JillLovesTravel Posted January 19, 2012 Author #3 Share Posted January 19, 2012 She said it is in response to the Costa Concordia accident and will detail that as well as what someone needs to know before going on a cruise.
robtx100 Posted January 19, 2012 #4 Share Posted January 19, 2012 Brian said on his facebook page on Tuesday that he was off to NY for a surprise interview. He did say Deborah Roberts was nice and fun to talk to. I assumed it had something to do with the Costa Concordia.
stretchcruz Posted January 20, 2012 #5 Share Posted January 20, 2012 Brian said he steered away from the Costa Concordia, that it was mainly about his books. It will be interesting to watch!

ryano Posted January 20, 2012 #9 Share Posted January 20, 2012 The media is going to wind up tearing cruising apart over this whole Costa accident deal :(
stretchcruz Posted January 20, 2012 #10 Share Posted January 20, 2012 Brian was flown to New York yesterday to do the interview. He said he hoped that they would not harp on the Concordia, that it would be about his book. He said that it was not too much about the Concordia, but some was. He has been nominated for an award for his book and is going to London to the ceremony.
bigeagle12 Posted January 20, 2012 #11 Share Posted January 20, 2012 Saw an article yesterday that was pulling "selective" issues from cruise critic posts  .. obviously by "reporters"/"journalists that know nothing about cruising. If I came on here for the first time not knowing anything about cruising .. some of these posters would scare me away too

stretchcruz Posted January 20, 2012 #24 Share Posted January 20, 2012 He is the only American to last an entire contract in the dining room. His second book, Cruise Confidential, was about his time as an aut auctioneer aboard ships. Both ships very enjoyable.
