David,

You are right about the offers. We were due to sail on Sapphire Princess in Oct 2010, from Sydney to LA. The day before sailing, our TA phone (we booked using a local TA) and said they had oversold and would we consider an offload. We had originally booked a mini (our first) and were upgraded to the dreaded suite, forward, right under the Bridge.

We were doing another cruise in the USA after Sapphire, so we had to get to LA somehow, and it was too far to swim - lol! Anyway, our offer was a replacement cruise, a flight to the US as well as a other enticements. We figured the offer was so good because it was super last minute! We had the fridge turned off and there was no food in the house, so it was fun having the extra nights at home.

We often wonder how we would have coped in that suite - I bought enough seasick pills just in case because most people who had been upgraded to it said "never again", but they were also glad to be in a suite. We will never know!!!

its a wonder that thied or sandie hasnt posted on here to tell us about their trip

Theid is elite , so has the free itnternet time, but I imagine he is very busy and his social calendar is probably full .

Not long till they get home and I am sure we will hear all about it. Weather looked OK in the Fiords today for them andit looks like they will get a good run back home across the Tasman Sea.

They will be going from one end , Fiordland , to the other ,Brisbane , on the Tasman:D
