HMC - Platinum Tendering

I've only been to HMC once, and I was able to move to the front of the (incredible long) line to get back on the ship by showing my platinum card. Is this the norm or were the security folks just being nice? I'll be on HMC two months from today:D:p

We were able to do it also about 18 months ago.

John has said it is part of platinum but the actually wording from Carnival says no.

When we were at HMC went over to a security guard and he said wait right here and he put us on first.

We have never been to HMC but in any other tender ports, we are told to go to the service desk where we will be excorted off. I like that arrangment better than flashing our cards. People tend to get less defensive if you are escorted by a ships officer.

If we don't have a tour booked for HMC when should we head down to get off the ship. We'll prob. get breakfast and take our time getting off, just don't want to get caught up in all the crowd.

I am gathering you are not platinum. If so wait about an hour or so.

One cruise shy of being platinum (with the way the program stands right now). We'll head down prob. around 10:00am since we get there around 9:00a.m.

Sorry, just saw where the thread mentioned platinum tendering.

I've also heard the people at the xray machines are not Carnival reps and know nothing about platinum. I guess unless I had a pressing reason, I just would wait in line. No one might stop you, but it might or might not be a perk.. and some say no.

I dont want to budge in line asking for something the perks say Im not entitled to. Just not worth it to get stares for budging.

I've heard it both ways at HMC. Going, obviously you get prefered tender. Comeing back is another matter. We were there a year ago and they were not allowing plat pasngrs to go to the front of the line. Probably just depends on who's working sercurity on the island that day....

No xray machine to go thru leaving HMC.

Have used priority back to the ship 3-4x now and never had any sort of problem and do not remember anyone commenting on us going to the front of the line at any time.

Same here...last year, coming back, we asked a security guard and were told we had to wait in the regular line. Sounds like it depends on who is working the line on any particular day.

With HMC being a private island, it may be handled a little differently than other ports.

Right. I wouldn't even think to ask in Grand Cayman or Belize. Carnival security checks who is getting back on the ship; it's not like other ports where platinum is meaningless to them.
