Amex Promo was a no brainer

I didn't realize that the difference in cost for an aft balcony to an aft penthouse worked out to less than $4 a day PP when you factor in OBC $500.

 

I drink more than that in cappuccino from the specialty coffee bar.

Yep, the AMEX promo prompted our first suite booking for May. We even applied for an AMEX card especially to take advantage of it: instant approval online, got the card in the mail ten days later, and booked that same day. It didn't hurt that the lowest suite fare on our preferred sailing date was only $100 more than the mini-suite fare for the 1st & 2nd passengers. :)

Yes, it's still valid, until the end of the month. The regular payment schedule applies: deposit, then final payment 75 or 90 days out, depending on suite category. The entire booking must be charged to your AMEX (any credit or charge card), though you can use a FCC for the deposit if you wish. You can book through NCL or with a travel agent. Be sure the promo code is used when booking. If it was successfully applied, the $500 OBC will immediately appear in your booking on NCL.com.

We booked the Epic with this promo for next January. Suite deposit was $1500 paid with AMEX, then final will have to be paid with AMEX. $500 OBC does show on reservation as jplain stated above.

 

Great promo but somehow when booking I missed that you cannot use it for the DSC, so I'll pass that FYI along to you so no surprises. Just in case you read with "excited-to-get-this-great-credit" eyes and miss it too :D

I found at least one TA offering up to $200 OBC in addition to the AmEx OBC depending on the cost of your cabin, but the additional credit was less than the discounted fare I found elsewhere.

 

This was notwithstanding what NCL told me: the AmEx OBC cannot be combined with any other offer.

The Breakaway is excluded from the Amex promo. So, you avoided disappointment by making the decision not to upgrade anyway.

We are booked in an aft penthouse, while it doesn't have the separate b/room well make good use of the extra space plus we don't plan on getting off the ship maybe once or twice in 14 days as we've done all these ports except Jamaica which we are not interested in.

In the past we've passed on these offers as well as upgrade offers just because it usually is way more bucks. And as I said earlier we a cappuccino holics so well make good use of the coffee machine all day.

Yes, I just avoided that disappointment by finding out it's not good on the Breakaway but now it really stinks knowing it is for a suite, not just the Haven :( Oh well.

You get the code when you pay the deposit, but you need to make final payment with the AMEX to keep it.

I booked Bermuda today with a FCC through NCL and I did to combine it with the Wave12 promo code, which is the 50% reduced deposit. No big deal with a FCC but it was combined on my booking invoice.

Thanks, I didn't think it could work. Sadly, I've had 3 suites since the offer started, all paid with Amex and none qualified for the OBC. 2 were through CAS and the other was booked before the offer started, missed the final payment date by one day!

Amex OBC can be combined with Latitude Insider OBC and Latitude Move up OBC. That is the only thing I have found it to be combinable with. I have one of each combination on two different bookings along with an additional $300 Travel Agent OBC on each.
