Luggage tags

Many of you were helpful with previous questions that I had and I hope the same holds true here. Can someone tell me how to get luggage tags for my upcoming cruise. I finished the Xpress Pass and received the images of the luggage tags with instructions to use official luggage tags. Nothing about where to get these official luggage tags. Any help is appreciated, thanks in advance for your help.

Not sure but I think you can request them after final payment, I still cannot request mine until after 18th April.

If you provided Celebrity with your email address, you will receive notification that your edocs are ready. At that point, (or shortly thereafter) you can request your luggage tags online.

 

Another alternative, is to contact Captains Club directly, or your Travel Agent if you booked with a TA. They should be able to assist you. I hope this helps !

Thank you for your reply. Final payment has been made, online regestration done and e-mail address given. We sail on May 27th. How far in advance should I expect to get the luggage tags?

We sail June 1st and have not received notification of e-docs or luggage tags being available --- this will normally appear about 45 (+/-) days out.

Just went through same thing:

After final payment is made if you are to the point that you can print your e-docs and print your express pass then if you booked directly with Celebrity then you can call them and request them (not sure about on-line)

Or..if you booked with a travel agent - 30 days before only - then you can go to Celebrity website and request them online.

But...you have to have followed the above steps and it has to be 30 days or less before you depart for your cruise.

I just got off the phone with celebrity and my travel agent and that is what I was told.

Thanks for the replies. I searched all over the web site for info about the luggage tags but could find none! I'm new to Celebrity, diamond+ on Royal so elite on Celebrity. I've been told that Celebrity is a step up so am really looking forward to this cruise. I must say though, either I just am not navigating it properly or I'm just dumb, but I don't find Celebrity"s site very customer friendly. I just may be asking more questions of you kind people, hope you'll bare with me!

They may automatically send you luggage tags in advance even if you don't request them. That has happened to us several times.

The time when you put them on makes no difference as long as the bags are tagged when the porter takes them away. So you can put them on at your own convenience.

 

Or you can have the porters tag the bags for you when you check them in at the pier, just like getting your bags tagged when you check them at the airport.

 

If you want to attach the tags yourself and you are flying, at least wait until your flight is over because at some airport ticket counters they will cut off and discard any tags on the bag that are not for that flight.

 

The main difference is that you get a stub as a receipt when you check a bag at the airport. When you check a bag for a cruise, you get nothing to show that you ever checked it at all. (But fortunately it usually is not a problem.)

 

And to continue with the confusion, do you place the tags on the luggage or on the handle?

The tags slip through the handle of the suitcase, you remove a small section of paper from one end to reveal the sticky part below, and just press the two ends together.

 

You could remove the entire paper backing and put the tag directly on the luggage if you really wanted, but people would be unlikely to do that unless tagging a box or some other bulky item that is being checked.

I thought i was going crazy this past weekend. I looked everywhere on line on how I could order the luggage tags.

 

I finally gave up and called. They said they would request them for me. I explained that I still wanted to know how to do it on the website for future cruises. They transferred me to another department and she walked me through the process. However, I told her that I did not see the area about luggage tags she was referencing. She asked me my sail date and voila.....informed me that luggage tags can be requested no more than 30-45 days from sailing date. She further let me know that once I hit this time frame, it will show up under the e-docs section.

 

To the poster that is sailing May 27, you are probably in the same situation. I hope this helps

My luggage tag button appeared when I was 49 days outs. I clicked it and received my luggage tags about a week later.

Really don't understand why you have to wait so long to request luggage tags when you can print your express boarding pass months before you even make your Final Payment. Why do you have to request them? Why not just let us print them out? I asked X CS about this and they could not give any answer other than 'you just can't do it because that is the way the system is designed.' LOL

Absolutly right! When not in US they are NOT going to send you any bagage tags. Strange approach as they send me other papers, invoices from local X offices...? Haven't got a better answer then "we don't do it".

Pass.

 

As for the luggage tags? About a week ago I received an email saying

all my Edocs were ready....at that time the link on my reservation

for ordering luggage tags became available.

Click on your booking and see if it is there and you can order them.

If you don't find it? Call Celebrity and ask them to mail them out.:)

a week to 10 days...you know snail mail...........

I booked my 4/14 cruise last-minute last week & the area to request luggage tags was on the page to do express check-in. I got tags today. I have no "e-docs". Unless you mean all the confirmations they send (which they told me I didn't need to print out or bring).The Celebrity travel specialist who booked me said the only docs I need to bring are my express pass & passports. They had a 40 page online guest book, does anyone print all that out? Hope not, having issues with my printer.
