The 14 day Alaska cruise has 9 port days that I know the casino will be closed. The ship skirts the coast so I'm not certain it would be open even while cruising. How far out does it need to be? Anyone know the normal hours for this cruise. I'm actually not a gambler but sometimes the slots "call" to me. It would actually be good for it to be closed as much as possible. Just curious:rolleyes:

Usually the Casino opens about 30 minutes after sailing. On sea days it will usually be open all day, but mornings can be very quiet.

I was on the 14 day cruise the summer of 2010 and I believe that the casino was open on the days that we were skirting the coast.

Whenever possible the ship will get 12 miles off-shore in order to open the casino. As CruiserBruce said this takes about 30 minutes.

The casino closed Wednesday night regular time (day 13) and remained closed. On Thursday when we sailed into Vancouver. It did not open again. This was due to regulations. I believe its Canadian law.

Some of the things I listed for each night may not be on your cruise. Things change every year.

Casino hours:

Embarkation day - tables and slots open at 9 PM -- slot machines open all night. Learn to plsy Texas Hold'em followed by Cash Game at 9 PM

Day 2 - Sea Day - Gaming Lessons at 12 Noon -- $500 slot tournament - qualifying rounds from 1 - 3 PM -every paid entry earns 200 slot points -- Texas Hold'em Poker tournament 1:30 - PM -- cash game 9 PM

Day 3 - Ketchikan - Opened around 5 PM -- Casino Royale '5 for 5' receive a pack of cards, matchplaay coupon, scratch card, 200 slot points and raffle ticket for only $5 from 7 PM - 9:30 PM

Day 4 - Tracy Arm -- slots open at 10 AM and tables at 10:30 AM. Black Jack Tournament qualifuing rounds from 1 - 3 PM. Taxas Hold'em Poker tournament 1:30 PM. Cash Game 9 PM

Day 5 - Jueau -- slots and tables open at 10:30 PM

Day 6 - Icy Straight Point - Casino opens at 4:30 PM -- Plat caribbean Stud Poker highest Hand Competition from 7 to 11 PM. Texas Hold'em Poker Cash Game at 9 PM

Day 7 - Sea Day - $500 Slot Tournament qualifying rounds from 1 - 3 PM followed by Grand Final. Plat Signature Pairs - the new and exciting side bet Blackjack from 7 - 11 PM.

Day 9 - Homer - Casino opens at 6:30 PM - Club 21 Raffle night - prize giveaway every 15 minutes from 9 - 9:45 PM.

Day 10 - Kodiak -Cashier and tables open at 3:30 PM. Tesax Hold'em Poker tournament at 3:30. $500 Blackjack Tournament qualifying rounds 7:30 - 9:30 PM followed by Grand Final.

Day 11 - Hubbard Glacier -- slots 24 hours -- tables open at 10:30 AM. Play 50 cent Toulette Gingo from 11 AM - 6 PM. Play Fun 21 Blackjack twusts, bonuses and more at 7:30 PM.

Day 12 - Sitka - Cashier and tables open at 6 PM. Play Face Up Blackjack -- see both the dealers cards first -- at 7:30 PM. Texas Hold'em Cash Game at 9 PM.

Never fear, you will have plenty of time to gamble. Within 30 mins or so after leaving your ports the casino will be open. As much as you need to play the slots, Hal needs to take your money :D have a great cruise.
