This poll allows you to choose multiple selections...as usual, good Poll Bridge Maven.

I do use Celebrity as my starting point to pick a cruise...I either look for an itinerary I want, and start with Celebrity and if it has it, I'll take it. If I want to just do a general cruise and enjoy the ship, I would go only to Celebrity.

13 Celebrity cruises/3 Princess/3 Carnival/1 Cruise West (now defunct), oh...forgot the 6 'cruises' in the Navy. Trust me they don't count, and they don't have enough in the Treasury to get me back out there.

As to the Capt Club, it is a nice benefit. I'm going on a 14 day cruise plus 2days in the UK, and travel days and will take 10-12 days of changes, and use the free laundry coupons. I like the Elite social events, great way of meeting new friends and friends from previous cruises. So yes, the loyalty program is a big postive, but not what brings me to Celebrity. I made the higher tier Because of the service, the more layed back atmosphere Celebrity engenders, and because of the beauty of the S-Class, and the T-Spa of the M-Class.

The only reason I'd like another tier is because of the large crowds in the Elite events could be split up some....and of course if they give me more goodies, such as SR discounts. Nice, but still not the main reason I cruise Celebrity as my main Line.

Good poll, but a little customer oriented.

It should really be based on the questions that the company would ask. All of which would relate to their convenience and pecuniary possibilities.

I usually cruise Celebrity, and do so because it is my favorite mainstream cruiseline. I enjoy my Captains Club Elite benefits, but would sail X whether that existed or not. Like others so far, I think points should be based on number of days sailed rather than cruises. I don't like the idea of giving up the same points to all the Floridians and such who sail on short cruises to push themselves up to higher levels, versus others who book longer cruises (nothing against people from Florida - if I lived there I would do it too!).

I go back and forth on deciding points on the amount of money paid, as there are already alot of extra perks that go with paying extra money for rooms. Going by money paid alone would, in a way, penalize people who book early or on special sales. An alternative might be to award both number of days points as well as special 'bonus points' for passengers who spend alot of $$$ onboard, whether for rooms, drinks, spa, etc..A bit more complicated to keep track of, but perhaps more 'fair'.

My choices were:

I sail on a number of different cruise lines, including Celebrity

I think points should be given based on dollars spent

I would sail on Celebrity if it didn't have a Captain's club

I think accumulated points should be used for a discount, then deducted from account

The poll should have also asked the question " As an Elite member, who has earned all of their status cruises on Celebrity, are you in favor of allowing Elite status to RCI cruise line members as Celebrity has done? My vote would have been NO because it has expanded the Elite membership to such a point that it is overcrowded in many venues. My feeling is that you should get your points or credits where you earn them and not carry them over to a different line.

Caldezi - It also works in the other direction. I earned my Celebrity elite status solely by my Celebrity cruises. Then when I subsequently took a Mediterranean cruise on Brilliance of the Seas in 2008, and a cruise to Alaska on Radiance of the Seas last summer, I had diamond status through reciprocity.

I would agree with you. I think reciprocity with RCI is not an advantage for us as we would always prefer to sail on Celebrity, and extending the benefits to RCI members is really crowding the Elite events. I don't mind if they offer some kind of benefit to entice RCI Crown and Anchor tier members to try Celebrity, I just wish it wasn't the Elite Lounge events, as they are so crowded on many cruises that we don't attend.

It is not the free drinks, but the opportunity to meet and share experiences with other well-travelled Celebrity devotees that I miss.

As with most policy changes some will applaude them, some will oppose them. Generally speaking, if you see yourself gaining something you support the change. If you see yourself losing something ,you oppose. The Corportation evaluates the relevant data and makes what it hopes is a sound business decision. If it works, great. If it doesn't, it's dropped. Apparently, the Miami suits believe that the program as it is now is working to meet their goals. That's reason enought to leave it in place. Feedback on these boards most certainly can be one source of information for the company and has proven so in other cases. remember the "X thre Rules" PR campaign? I would urge that we all continued to offered well reasoned opinions on topics of interest.

I didn't choose dollars spent because some people spend on suites high season, some people spend on booze, some on jewellery, some in the casino and some on tours and some in the spa (or any combination).

So, how would you reward? A cabin benefit, a booze benefit, etc?

Also, for many years, being a Canadian, we spen 60% more than Americans on everything. How would they account for that?

I chose number of sailing days because that really represents loyalty. Some pax book only on longer cruises or b2b's or even b2b2b's. I think they deserve the rewards.

We think Celebrity should give temporary Elite Benefits on a sailing to all Suite passengers.

Captain's Club Benefit points should be by number of days cruised on Celebrity ships.

I'd like to get complimentary drink coupons to use anywhere on the ship, so that I do not need to attend the Elite Cocktail party in order to receive complimentary Elite Cocktails.

When you cruise with friends that are not entitled to elite benefits, do you spend less time in the elite lounge?

I just achieved Elite status after my last cruise, so I have not yet sailed as an Elite. On our upcoming SE Asia cruise we are cruising with two other couples who are Elite, so will attend events together, but if they weren't Elite I would still attend the events. It's just an hour or so, and would be a nice chance to meet other people. That's the only potential pitfall of cruising with friends: you're less likely to reach out and meet others.
