Calling all Fascination experts...

Hi All -

Trust someone can assist -

We have never been on a Carnival ship before only HAL....thinking about taking a short in-between cruise out of Jax...

Does the Fascination offer room service with all cabin catagories? Is there a charge for room service - besides the tip?

Is there an adults only pool? If so is the "rule" enforced?

Is it possible to have dinner in the lido everynight? What is the dress code there?

Any oceanview or veranda rooms or stateroom decks to avoid?

Is there a policy for bringing wine or champagne on board?

Any other information about the ship would be greatly appreciated....

Thank you in advance...

I went on my first cruise a few weeks ago on the Fascination and I absolutely loved it! Yes, room service is offered in all cabin categories and there is no charge other than the tip. There is no an adult only pool however there is the adult only Serenity deck that has two hot tubs. While I was laying out on the deck, twice I noticed one of the staff asking kids who looked younger how old they were. If they were under 21 they were asked to leave. You can have dinner in the lido every night. The dress is casual. I'm not sure about any rooms to avoid. We stayed in a porthole room on empress deck and I loved the location. You're allowed to bring one bottle of wine/champagne on board per passenger.

I hope this helped! (:

We have sailed on HAl three times..Carnival 11 times, plus 3 on NCL, 3 on Princess, 1 on Celebrity with one booked on Princess, One booked on NCL and thinking about a booking on the Breeze if our friends want to go...SO WHAT I THINK..

Carnival is not HAL. People are decades younger. The ship is jumping through the night. The food on HAL is the best thing going going for it. No other line comes close to HAL IMHO.At nine oçlock on HAL...often you feel like you are on a private ship. Trivia is rare and very clubby. The same people who cruise a zillion times know all of the answers and resent folks from ""challenging"their domain. Some of the people from NYC on HAL are darn hard to take. That said..I love it because it is so restful. the food is so darn good. The staff has to be the sweetest in the world..Bali Ho!

ON THE FASCINATION....the ship is clean. clean. clean. The staff is very nice.More casual..more friendly. There is dancing in the MDR...much waving of napkins..some get up and join in a Conga Line. I don't. enjoy seeing those who do..enjoy themselves. Food not as good as HAL...better than Celebrity and MDR food on NCL..Tied with Princess. Deli outstanding. Salad bar very good. Desserts good. Warm Chocolate Melting cake..Yum.

Room Service..very good. very fast. I order coffee and toast most mornings..did so on the Fascination..prompt. came hot too.No charge. I tip $3.

Don't swim on ships. Don't know about adults pool. Hear some gripping about kids being in hot tubs. but don't know.

Lido deck is casual. No shirtless men. No naked women. No tank tops. No bathing suits. YES you can eat there every night. Menu.....plus grill..Mongolian Wok..plus Pizza and deli inside. Pizza was good too. didn't try the others.

We have only sailed once..we had an OV on the Main Deck. We were very happy with it.

Is there a policy for bringing wine or champagne on board?Yes. but I don't do it. Go to the carnival web site.

Any other information about the ship would be greatly appreciated....

Thank you in advance...[/quote

We did not know what to expect from the Fascination. We liked it. Most passengers are from the South. We are southern. It was laid back. The children were well behaved. The college grads...said Yes Mam and opened doors. Very southern. Black kids and white kids...just really made a good impression on me.

Lots of Trivia. We love to play.

Lound music by the casino. Old goldies. Love that.

Carnival is jubilant. It rocks. People are happy to be there. Not afraid to show it.

Hal....meals are divine. Peaceful. Quiet. Fresh Flowers. Soft Music. Come home feeling rested.

I love them both. For the Money..Carnival is the best bargin going IMHO.

We were on the fascination last summer and loved it. I was pleasantly surprised on elegant night because on my other cruises, not everyone dressed up, but on the fascination, everyone was dressed to the nines! I loved it! Even the kids were in little tuxes and formal wear! Best elegant night of all the cruises I have been on!

I sailed on the fascination in March and LOVED the Serenity deck! The hot tubs were very hot and it was very relaxing back there!

I had an OV on the upper deck. I was in u62 and we heard a lot of noise from the elevator and people entering the hallway. We were pretty close to the elevator. Didn't feel much movement at all on this cruise.

Loved the casino!! Enjoyed the comedy shows.

Never went into the pool tho. I'm not a fan of salt water pools so I saved the swimming for when we was in port and went to the Atlantis.

My room steward Mr. P was the best I have had on any of my cruises. Also met a very nice photographer. He also worked in the photo gallery, Unuts. I'm pretty sure you spell his name different but that's what he told me his name pronounces to.

All the crew members on this cruise was fabulous!

Yes you can eat on the lido nightly. I dined twice in the mdr for dinner, but the rest of the nights we ate on the lido deck and room service.

The chicken fajita is really good from room service.

Can't think of anything else.

While I've not cruised on the Fascination yet, I have cruised on many of the Fantasy class ships. If you are not a heavy sleeper then you should avoid the port hole cabins (category PT). You will definitely hear and feel the bow thrusters when arriving into port in the morning.

Have sailed the Fascination twice. You can eat every meal on the Lido deck, but as I am not so fond of buffets I prefer my night time dining in the MDR. We have been in portholes both times, once on the main deck, once on the Riviera, loved them both. DH prefers the main deck, to me it does not matter, i get a view, and I don't pay the ocean view price:).

Lots to do on board, trivia, bingo, shows, shops, miniature golf, joging track, pool, lots of day time activites in the pool area. You can bring one bottle of wine per person on board, technically that's for your sail away party, you can order a wine package, for a different bottle each night, or you can order your booze and or wine from the Bon Voyage Department so that it is delivered to your cabin, there when you get there, and you don't have to tote things around all day. Have a great cruise. We have done Key West and Nassau, and the Half Moon Cay and Nassau cruise. Enjoyed both. Our favorite thing to do in Nassau has been to take the jitney to the Sheritan and spend the day there. Not sure if it's the pools, or the jitney that make it such a fun trip.:)

I am no expert but we cruised on the Fascination last summer and loved it! I take on two bottles of wine (one for me and DH but I drink them both!) spend most of my time at the Serenity Deck adults only section, it is very peaceful. We stayed on Empress Deck, mid ship just below the Galley. Love the convenience of this deck but if you are a light sleeper I'll warn you that around 1AM you may think someone is being murdered upstairs! It did wake me a few times but I was able to go right back to sleep. It bothered me so little that I have booked three more rooms in the same location for this summer's cruise on the Fantasy. I have room service delivered every morning, mostly coffee and fruit. This keeps me full until DH gets up and we go to the omellete station! I have a review of our cruise in my signature, hopefully it will help. Happy Cruising!

Seavoyage -

The policy is 1 bottle of wine per adult. They charged us a corking fee - I think $10 one night, and gave us a hard time another night, even though we had opened it but left the cork in. So we got smart. We poured our own wine in our room and brought it in our glasses to the dining room. No problem there. Your room steward will replace the glasses - the are a different size then the ones in the MDR, so they know the difference.

Been on the Fascination and loved it! Enjoy your cruise.

Does the Fascination offer room service with all cabin catagories? Is there a charge for room service - besides the tip? It is offered with all cabins, no charge.

Is there an adults only pool? If so is the "rule" enforced? There is an adults only deck with two hot tubs, no pool. Yes the rule is enforced. SIDENOTE: This deck on this ship is one of my very favorite places in the world. :-)

Is it possible to have dinner in the lido everynight? What is the dress code there? Yes, it's possible. Dress code is casual.

Any oceanview or veranda rooms or stateroom decks to avoid? Not that I have found.

Is there a policy for bringing wine or champagne on board? Each adult can bring one bottle of wine or champagne aboard, in their carry-on.

Any other information about the ship would be greatly appreciated....

Only that I totally LOVE this ship. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the staff.

Let me know if I can answer any other questions.
